Roman Sadovsky

This discussion of the medallists is from the CBC.ca archived livestream (it wasn't available on the Dailymotion version). My original file is 720p, yet the site converted it to only 288p for some odd reason.
Post-Senior Men LP Discussion (Livestream Commentary):

There's no sound for the first 4.5 minutes. I laughed when Roman pretended to set up for a back flip (because Keegan did one before him), but of course he can't actually perform a back flip on ice, so he was just teasing the livestream viewers, lol!

The "Skate Ontario Presents: #3turn3 with Roman Sadovsky" livestream will begin at 6PM ET (so 39 minutes from now) instead of 7PM as originally scheduled.

Skate Canada just released this promotional image of the Olympic-bound Roman.

I know these are late, but I still have a few Nationals-related clips that I wanted to share.

Kevin Reynolds was a guest on That Figure Skating Show, and he talked about Roman's SP. I've isolated the relevant section.

Dylan Moscovitch and Asher Hill gush over Roman's LP for 2.5 minutes. Dylan compares the distance that Roman can cover with his crossovers to the distance covered by a large eagle (so now we have another bird analogy along with Johnny Weir's "elegant snow crane").

Kevin Reynolds appeared again on That Figure Skating Show, and this is what he said about Roman's LP:

I've cut this from the official Olympic Team announcement video.

While I'm not on Instagram, I found a recent selfie of Roman (who's taking a lot of precautions!) which suggests that he and the other Canadian Olympic figure skaters are on their way to Beijing.

I've seen some speculation that the skaters in this snapshot may be Canada's line-up for the Team Event (minus Keegan, who's flying from Alaska). Someone else pointed out that they all train in the Toronto area, so it may not mean anything in terms of the Team Event.

Just 22 minutes ago, the CBC Sports YouTube channel has uploaded the exact same fluff piece of Roman that I already shared 11 days ago, and I was wondering if it's geoblocked outside Canada.

J/R train in Montreal not Toronto.

Word is Keegan isn’t doing the team event, of his own choice. Again just a rumour.

Thanks for the correction; I actually forgot that J/R train in Montreal :palmf: (and so did everyone else who isn't you on the Canadian thread, apparently!).

That's an interesting speculation from the rumour mill; it never occurred to me that Keegan might not be interested in the Team Event. If that's true, then Roman will have a LOT pressure to perform well in the SP (and we all know that he usually falls apart under pressure) because Team Canada probably won't qualify for the free skate if he has a bad outing. And even if Canada makes it to the FS, Roman will be exhausted having to compete four times in a week. This is NOT an ideal situation.

Capital Indoor Stadium is the Olympics figure skating venue, so I assume this means Roman has arrived safely in Beijing (and hopefully he tested negative for COVID).
