Ross Miner

Ross was just assigned to 4CCs, since Adam Rippon withdrew.

From the USFSA official twitter:

U.S. Figure Skating ‏@USFigureSkating
Some #4CCTaipeiCity news: @rossminer will replace @Adaripp on the United States' team.

Good luck Ross! Skate well!
I hope he has a great pair of performances there.

^^ Thank you for the info. Am looking forward to seeing his awesome short program again.

kazsporttv has been using an image of Ross and his spread eagle :luv17: to promote its Four Continents coverage, which has been the only streaming accessible to some of us:

In a couple of hours, Ross will be skating first in Warm-Up Group 2 for the FS.

Warm-up at 12:49:10 local time.

Ross skates at 12:56:40.

Go, Ross :yay:.

Mini-vid from the stands during the Pairs FS on Saturday: Ross, Max, Liam, and Madi Chock are all smiles as they wave to the camera.

Friday had been a rough day on the ice for all three men, so it is great to see that they are looking relaxed and in good spirits.

Ross, "I'm ready to go home" about sums up his week :sad21:

But he does have my favorite mens SP of the season. I'll wash out this event with his RC and Nationals SPs.

It is hard to believe your season has ended and then to get summoned to skate because of two withdrawals. It so often does not turn out well. Still, Ross achieved his personal best ever scores this season :)

Hello from California, I have never posted in this part of the forum before but, I heard this song tonight and I thought it might be good for Ross to skate to. It's called "Please Come to Boston" By Dave Loggins. I heard it on the radio tonight and it made me think of Ross. "Please Come To Boston" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDRLZFgEoGw

Want to revive this thread to point out two things:

1.) I love this transition he does to his opening jump in his new "Downtown" SP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j-WtF3UMxo#t=24s
Glide, glide, glide, then bam! 4S.

2.) This fan fest needs a new owner. I've been trying to get others to do new Fan Fests because I am focusing more on moderating duties (and have other stuff going on). Who is a big Ross fan and willing to take on updating the original post? I'd be glad to help, but I think it would be great for an awesome Boss Miner fan to take the reigns!

Though we are still very very sad for him :sad4::sad4:, it doesn't change the fact how he skated brilliantly and with all of his heart at US Nats this weekend. :points: Ross is a fighter :agree:, a quality skater :agree:, and a true entertainer !

This is Ross I saw live for the first time at a competition, back in 2009 at JGF in Tokyo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-syuLkhwBw
Since then, Ross, Grant and Ricky are always sentimental favorites among US boys for me. :) http://www.isuresults.com/results/gpf0910/CAT001RS.HTM

deedee1, I found Ross's own words on his 2018 nationals very helpful and inspiring:
"That’s what I am capable of,” said the 26-year-old. “I do that at home, and it’s great to do it on the big stage. I know it’s not a fluke, this is the big moment. I have no regrets, at the end of the day, I did my job, and it’s up to them (committee) to decide (his Olympic fate). It’s my plan to warm up triples and do it in the moment. It felt good to just go out there and stomp a beautiful quad. It’s such a pure happiness not caring what the score is. You did your job, what mattered, and nothing can take away that happiness. It’s a pretty incredible feeling and why we skate.”

Trying to not let the drama of the last 24 hours change my mind about how ABSOLUTELY THRILLING it was to be in that arena for Ross' free skate. No matter the team selection -- that skate WAS the skate of U.S. Nationals for me. And I was so thrilled to see the Maklemore SP clean at last -- I love that program SO much.

On a more shallow note- Ross is quite attractive! He always had a cute boy next door look, but seeing him in person this past weekend and I'm thinking "MAN, I need to be careful, I'm married!"

Regardless of the selection off Olympics and Worlds, Ross's free skate is the best performance among the entire event. I was thrilled with him hitting every elements in his program not losing every details to note. I was not a big fan of him until that day, but I was totally sold! I can't ever forget the special moment. So thanks to Ross for your awesome skate to the world. I hope you show your quality at 4CC again and keep moving forward.
