Roster changes

Chris Mabee, Andrei Griazev and Chengjiang Li have withdrawn from SA.

Mabee was replaced by Ian Martinez (CAN) and Griazev by Alexander Uspenski (RUS), his 2nd event.

Li has yet to be replaced, and as of today, Adrian Shultheiss hasn't withdrawn.

Skate America is just two weeks away.

No announcement has been made as yet as to why Mabee has withdrawn from all his events. The rumor is that he has retired.

It looks like he has decided not to compete this season, so it's not retirement per se, but skaters rarely return when they take time off.

Well that's to bad because i thought Christopher Mabee would have benefited as well for Jeffrey Buttle's retirement in terms of possibly making the olympics but he doesn't come back after this season then I think that Shawn Sawyer really has good shot at making the Olympic Games as Patrick Chan is pretty much a lock if he stays healthy and injury free. If Canada gets three spots at the 2009 Worlds I think that Kevin Reynolds may ahve a good shot at that 3rd spot

Well piffle. Since there's no US broadcaster, Skate America is the only GP event I'll get to see larger than my computer screen. At least A. Uspenski got Griazev's spot. He disappointed me last year, but I haven't given up hope yet.
