I really enjoyed that program! Thanks to Mr. RG for finding it on TV for me! I would have missed it, and Rudy is my all-time very favorite skater! It's absolutely amazing the odds he overcame to win that national title and World bronze. It's amazing especially when you think how many medalists have never had to worry about basics, like paying for lessons (although I know that there are many for whom that is a significant issue).
I have seen Rudy in the the Kiss and Cry when he won Nationals so many times, but every time I see it I actually get misty eyed. I enjoy his skating so much. Wish he would go back to doing a classical skate. His lines and moves are so beautiful. One of my favorite male skaters.
Rudy's up and down life seems to go on and on. He's had hip problems this year, and they are serious. There is an update on the News page of his web site. The bad news is that what he has is degenerative (Avascular Necrosis); the better news is that he's doing well and skating well for now.
