Well I expected him and some others to withdraw for that reason but I didn't think he would injure (or re-injure) himself in the process. Wasn't expecting a great skate but wasn't expecting this either :(
no. He didn't injure (or re-injure) himself in the process. He is taking it slow after the last injury and he doesn't train at the full capacity yet. It was a planned WD after a few elements as I read.

He looked in pain. But okay. Also, how does 13 yo Samsonov qualify? You have to be 14. So they still didn't meet the quota? Oversight by the club?

Good to see a channel that isn't all about the girl skaters. The boys and pairs deserve our full attention too.

I agree. But since my YT channel is only of, mostly the Russian junior boys, I can't really say anything  But I do that, because people ignore them ;)

14 y.o. is required only for Russian National and Russian cups.

Poster on FSO said 14 starting 3/5 this year for All-Russian events. It would be a real pity if this doesn't count. Well I sure all these guys will have an abundance of opportunities either way.

I read that he planned to WD from the very beginning. Something about the rules that 6 or more competitors in Seniors are required. So skaters could get title "Master of Sports".

It's possible. Happened last year when Kostornaya WD after SP when she competed in jogging suit.. ;)

The difference is that Kostornaya withdrew after the whole SP. He withdrew after just a few elements, so I don’t believe that it was planned. There is a benefit to show judges your SP, but I can’t see any benefit to go to competition to do just a few elements.

well, I read about him before SP even started. Yes, there're zero benefit for him, but it's not about him. It's about RusFed' rules regarding a minimum number of participants with active titles.

2. Alexandra Makhalova 61.92 - UR and mistake at CCoSp - no camel position.
3. Diana Knyazeva 58.41 - combo 3T+2T.

Senior men - serious mistakes of all competitors.

Sof'ya Vazhnova, a 10 year old contestant from CSKA Moscow in this year's Ice Age, Kids show on Perviy Kanal (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaixuYh0Xb8) competed successfully in todays Tournament "Cup of Cherkasova": https://youtu.be/xoLdgXbFDeo?t=14099 She won the free skate in her age group with 138.33.

The effect of training and rehearsing for the show with constant attention to her choreography and presentation was already visible today. Sof'ya explained in the show's leader that she never smiled while performing, but since she started being coached by Tat'yana Navka, she has learned to smile :)

CSKA "Victory Day" tournament: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u-aT-FQnl4

Several 'Ice Age, Kids' contestants will compete, Dzhastina Uylan, Lyubov Rubtsova and Veronika Zhilina and perhaps even more: https://www.sportvokrug.ru/r/competition/4695/Стартовый протокол.pdf

Probably one of the last big open tournaments for children this skating season, though it seems all of the big rinks in Moscow have "Victory Day" tournaments the coming week.
Could they be the end of school year exams for the skating part of the children's education, since it seems their parents are at rinkside and bring gifts and flowers?
