Why would anyone object if Michelle had a deal wth Disney? It seems perfectly natural to me. Wholesome family entertainment and all that.

Oh, boy, we're digging DEEP into the memory banks now! 'Course, Linda did have a reputation for re-surfacing every so often for many years to grouse about her silver medal, with her apparent sense of injustice reportedly fueled by Frank -- dunno how deserved that reputation might be, though.
ETA: Have the skaters who portrayed Mickey ever gotten much press? Must be hard to skate while wearing those large, heavy costume heads.

No, none of the character skaters on Disney on Ice ever get a mention. When you work for the Mouse, you work for the Mouse. It is hard even to find a cast listing.

RE: the mouse - Disney's policy is to never recognize that there is a person inside the mouse... especially since Mickey is most likely played by a female "cast member" (this is true even in the parks, interestingly enough Minnie has more male "CMs" than female.. go figure)

I will never forget that performance. I was so happy for her. Even before her marks came up I said to my hubby she is going to take silver of course Tara had not skated yet, and the rest is history. Thank you for posting the link , beautifully skated program.
