I think Sasha is out of the GP entirely. Cup of China, her only other event, is 3 weeks from now. According to the report, she has been told to avoid doing multiple revolution (triple) jumps for four weeks.
A long plane trip to China would only aggravate her back injury, and if she competed there and could do only double jumps, there wouldn't be much point in going anyway.

MY! MY!MY! Yet, another injury. It looks like certain posters owe Michelle an apology! I guess it is alright for Sasha to withdraw (last minute), but Not Michelle. It always seems that people are always to crucify Michelle.
Could it be that Sasha withdrew because she was afraid of Arakawa? Could it be that she is not prepared because she spent the summer vacationing?
I wouldn't be so bold to make those statements. I hope her injury is not severe. I hope Michelle's back pain is not too severe.
I certainly hope that others are more sympathic to the reasons why skaters withdraw from competitions. I certainly hope that nobody will attack another skater, not Michelle, not Sasha, not Jenny, not Ann Partice. Injuries can cause permanent damage, a lifetime of pain and suffering. As a past skater I know injuries can be devastating. Please let's stop attacking skaters!

Arakawa is not competing in SA. The one started 'Michelle chicken out' thread is a hater of all US ladies. Not just Kwan.
