Which LP performance of Sasha do you think the best? I would appreciate it if you could include the year and the name of the competition as well :)

Well, basing it strictly on how well she skated it ... her Swan Lake at the spring cheesefest (2004?) in Providence, RI, was the only perfect LP I remember her doing ... she was quite good that day.
But the LP I liked the most was her R&J in 2006. I thought it was a brilliantly choreographed program which really played to her strengths. If she had ever delivered it cleanly, I believe it would have gone down in the record books as one of the best ever. Even with the errors, it was still pretty darn good.

Edited to add ... I know you just wanted LP's ... but I think her Malaguena SP at 2004 Worlds was the best she ever skated. It was a masterpiece!!!

IMO, the best was R&J in 2005/2006. Even with the errors, it was artistically very good.

Sasha is more of a SP skater. Malaguena (2004) and Dark Eyes (2006 Oly) were her masterpieces, IMO.

Thank you for your post! I will check out the SL that you mentioned.

I myself loved her R & J really a lot. It was really beautiful and her costumes were also very elegant. I was wondering if there was any clean one. but as I hear you, perhaps not. But as long as the commentators, Sasha, and the audience seem to be happy, that's good enough for me.

Trophee Eric Bompard 2005, just a fall at the end of the program.

Hard to decide. Her LP at her first ever senior nationals in 2000 was stunning. also Romeo and Juliet at the Olympics is just beautiful if you have abox of kleenex handy. Swan Lake at the 2003 Campbells is perhaps the best ever.

Thank you all!

What an amazing line she has! Great posture and extension. I also respect the way she pays careful attention to all the details (not only the arm and hand expressions, but also costume and makeup!). She has her own style that is very sophisticated. I especially like her skating to romatic music because she is capable of expressing all the nuances.

Detail right down to her fingertips. She was always very stunning.

I agree-like any "professiomal" she does pay attenion to the ffiner details in regaerds to makeup and costume.

What impresses me post about Sasha, is that although I think TT"s "Swan Lake" is her best attempt at a "Performance for the Ages", the music to R&J seemed to really hit home. Whether Cohen understood the theme, liked the story/music, or could connect with the storyline is of no consequence to me. I believed she believed in portraying that particular story (at least, at the Olympics LP) and that's all I need.

Somehow, I find it funny (ironic?) that the piece of music I connect Sasha to is NOT the music that made her famous (or vice versa.)

Oh goody a Sasha gush thread. I like all of Sasha's programs even with
her mistakes she shines. My favorites are her 2006 RJ and 2006 Dark Eyes.
The way Sasha interpreted the choreography of these two programs was brilliant. I remember thinking to myself after watching Dark Eyes at the Olympics my goodness she skated with sass, passion and talk about attitude, she owned that ice. I just loved it.
