Satoko Miyahara

Satoko did a seminar in Grenoble France. Taking in the sights with Kevin Aymoz. :)

And here's from Satoko's Instagram, thanking her fellow skaters and the public, and the kids they taught, and stating it was such an honour to participate. Great queen Satoko, thank you very much for being there! Kudos!

Here's Satoko Miyahara at the Challenge charity show for the relief of the victims of the Noto earthquake, in one of her iconic spirals:

Congratulations to Satoko! And I hope she will make use of her new position and her huge experience for the best benefit of all Japanese skaters!
I wonder what it means for her own skating future, though, as I have no idea how it works when you're a pro. Can she still skate in shows as a fed director (which I seriously doubt, but who knows)? Or does it mean that Yuzuru's charity show on September 15 was her effective goodbye, at least for now? Any insight, anyone?

Shizuka Arakawa is still skating in shows (and how beautifully), yet for some time she has been a Vice-Presidents of JSF, which I believe is a higher position than a board member. This doesn't mean that she will be able to keep as many shows as she used to, but I don't think that she will stop altogether.
As to using her new position, I haven't had the impression that Shizuka Arakawa was allowed to change anything, so I don't know what Satoko Miyahara may achieve.

Oh, good! I was worried we might be losing her from the shows for some fed administrative job for good! So I'm glad to hear that is not the case!
As for the changes, you can always hope ! :)

Magill has already posted these links in the Yuzuru Hanyu Fan Fest and maybe in The Edge, but as the viedo is featuring Satoko Miyahara near as much as Yuzuru Hanyu, I thought that it belonged in her Fan Fest as well. By the way, I have always known her as a very expressive Figure Skater, but here her facial expressions made me think of those of a ballerina:

Oh, thank you!!! I just realized I should have put it here too and have come to make up for my omission, and.... It's here already!
You can always count on the like-minded souls, that's great!

There was a thread on The Edge, about the September 15th Challenge charity show in which Satoko Miyahara participated, both as skater and as coach for children. This thread has just been moved to Yuzuru Hanyu's Fan Fest, and only his, and the posts now appear in this Fan Fest at the date at which they have been posted in The Edge, as if they had been posted directly in Yuzuru Hanyu's Fan Fest. I hope that Satoko Miyahara's fans here had had time to read this thread. The last post of this Challenge former thread, rather recent, now appears as #7111 on Yuzuru Hanyu's Fan Fest.

Edit : I fixed the name.

I just noticed this the other day. The pre sale for the meet and greet is closed, but Satoko seems like she is going to show at some point during the 2025 U.S. tour of Stars on Ice. I can't make it though 😞 Maybe someone else can and report back! It's hard however, to figure out which city she would appear in I guess there's info within the links as usual as to which skaters are likely to show up at each venue city? https://www.starsonice.com/tour

Satoko will again be one of the skaters in Notte Stellata 7-9 March 2026, which makes me very happy as I have missed her.
