Here is a translation of a recent article from the sports magazine NUMBER. --Thanks to the translator!

It follows the early career and upbringing of Satoko from her parents view point. Good to read.

Thank you so much for the link! Love how even shy, soft-spoken Satoko seems to possess a fiery nature motivating her to succeed.

Satoko and Shoma, #TinyButMighty at Skate America! :cheer:

thanks for sharing and thanks to the translator!! it is a good read indeed, and shows where she got her mentality, her parents sounds like very wise and understanding people, btw i would love to see "yelling satoko" cause looking at her i would have never guessed  and Doctor Satoko sounds cool  i just hope she wont stop skating

here is an interview with Mie Hamada after 2014 Nationals, its a great one, i always thought Mie Hamada seems very enthusiastic, sometimes too much but after reading this interview i understand why,
hardships they went through and how Satoko never gave up and worked hard, also i know why her students has very good spins

I am so moved after reading the two interviews. Satoko's success is so well deserved and I can't wait for more great things to happen for her this season.

Such a lovely blend of quiet power, elegance and poise. She has shown herself to be such a calm and able competitor. All the best to her this week at SA.

Yes. Always underscored in PCS in my humble opinion. She should have had the highest PCS in the SP. Her expression has improved so, so much and I can finally see the "fire" that was needed in this program. Nobody beat her interpretation, choreography, and performance that night. Hoping for a clean FS!

Totally agree. Always felt her PCS is underscored. And I was hoping being the World Silver Medalist would boost her PCS this year, disappointed again.
Her jumps are not as big as some of the skaters but that should only reflect in her GOE and has nothing to do with PCS. She has the best interpretation, choreography, and performance. Love her SP this year.

its no surprise that she didnt get the PCS, but she is amazing, they seem to change little bit of choreo at the end of StSq where she just stands now, there used to be some moves that went well with the music, maybe they wanted her to give more performance but i wish they didnt change it, it has nothing to do with how awesome she is  good luck on the free Satoko!!! :cheer:

Meanwhile there are skaters with higher jumps but very poor posture in the air and they don't get half as much criticism as Satoko is getting. Yes, her jumps are small, but she has a beautiful, tight posture and she rotates fast.

Underscored as always but congratulations for Satoko on your bronze medal at SA :cheer:

I know some people still blame her and underestimate her overall performance because of her jumps but it’s kinda unfair since in my eyes she definitely has improved on her jumps compared to the last season and considering her mental strength that will be continued improvement.

Even if so, I am glad that seems like not a few figure skating fans, who aren’t even Satoko fans, are simply pleased with her wonderfulness.

The criticism on her jumps, when she lands them, are just a poor excuse to hold her PCS down. Doesn't make sense at all. Congrats on the bronze and hopefully she continues to land her jumps and is consistent. Then the ridiculous judging will be exposed for what it is.

Satoko has the mindset of a winner. It will stand her in good stead because she won't let something like this get her down. I only hope it doesn't lead to over-training like last year. That's my only concern for Satoko.
Otherwise, she is a joy to watch and everything about her is awesome.

It’s always mystery to me that to get high GOE automatically can get high PCS? and vice versa! Why?
