Satoko Miyahara | Page 40 | Golden Skate

Satoko Miyahara

oh well, i wish some people could forget how "prerotated" her jumps are and focus on other aspects of her skating then they can decide if they like her or not , i know some do but they are in minority
few weeks ago i thought "when did i start posting on her fan fest" and see that i started at page 3! i feel very proud i got to follow from beginning  and i also noticed that how some people were writing beautiful comments at the beginning but now same people seem to turn against her

Well said. The same people who were writing beautiful comments at the beginning and weren't even bothered by her jumps have now turned against her criticizing everything they admired a year ago. Such a shame.

I am amused that many of them enjoyed her when she was jumping smaller and had more issues, now that she is fixing her jumps and they are REALLY much better they prefer to blind themselves and turn their backs , anyways I am happy she won SP and LP, I voted for sp but missed the LP voting :(

But hey, others may come as new fans who were just 'recruited' in the course of the last season. I'm such a one. Satoko's jumps could maybe be bigger, but I don't really care: I loved just about everything about her skating and packaging this season, not to mention great music choices (bonus points for it not being warhorses!) I wish her the very best in the new season. By the end of last season, I found myself really looking forward to each of her routines, so, here I am as a proud fan, and nice to meet you all, although I can see I already know some of you from other fan threads. ;)

She has many other qualities and her layback spin is my everything :luv17: :luv17: I noticed her last season from GP series and fell in love, even I have always been a fan of "good, big jumpers" Satoko's skating is so pure and beautiful ... she is exception :luv17: Also it is so rrare to see a skater who is so aware of her body and weaknesses , so down to earth and improving from competition to competition :)

Welcome!^^ I did notice some people (of all ages) becoming fans simply because her skating is wonderful. Nice to meet one of them. ;)

What?! That's so random, but cool. Go Satoko :cheer: interesting that an American skater was not nominated.

Congratulations to Satoko :luv17: .

Incidentally, IIRC:
Ashley has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in the past.
Ashley and Gracie both have appeared as presenters on the broadcast of the award ceremonies.
Polina has attended the award ceremonies -- she walked the red carpet, etc.

Happy for the ladies to be recognized :).
My hope for the future is that Nickelodeon will recognize figure skaters from other disciplines as well.

This is so random but it seems Satoko was nominated for the "Don't Try This At Home" category at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards. :cool14:

Me too, I was like "What the? :scratch2:" when I saw the category... Is it because she's tiny and yet incredible on the ice, it's like "Don't try this at home, she may be small and can do it, but is an athlete and works very hard for it!"? Or something like that?

I saw that on twitter  Which category is that? Is there a video or something explaining what you shouldn't try at home? Hahaha. Anyway, can I vote for her? Go Tiny Queen!

You can vote here starting with May 23rd

Not sure what "don't try this at home means" but it's probably about "cool tricks nobody else can do" or something. I don't know what are Satoko's cool tricks though. Spins? (Cue forum screaming "prerotations!!!")

Is Satoko the only figure skater nominated? That's pretty exciting news. I wonder if Japan even knows what this event is
 it would be neat if she went.

Please dont give me more reason to ship than i already have
Btw voting for nickelodeon voting voting will start tomorrow, i wonder if we can vote, would be so cool if she wins!!!

 Yeah I think anyone should be able to vote. Nickelodeon hasn't met the power of Japanese fans.

Bringing this here as well just in case. Sorry if it's already been shared here.
I was checking around YouTube and Dailymotion for videos to replace dead links for the OP in this thread and found this video that I don't think I've seen before.
MOI 2010 Shoma Uno / Satoko Miyahara
Baby Shoma and baby Satoko must have been invited because they were the national novice champions in 2010. Too cute!

Btw, do we know why Satoko was nominated for that Nickelodeon award? I can't see much from their website because my PC is really old.
