Satoko Miyahara

By any chance, does anyone know the name of the piano part near the beginning of Satoko's FS music? About 35 seconds into the program, I really love the way it sounds and would like to know which part of the opera it's from. Many thanks!

Re: her 4CC performance, I'm not worried for her. She is such a strong competitor and I think this will light a spark that inspires to be the best she can at the Olympics.

Satoko: "I want to keep things simple and stop overthinking." The day after she cried tears of frustration, her smile came back. She went back to training in the morning. "I'm not thinking about placings or scores. I want to do what I can do and enjoy the Olympics"

Satoko: "I don't want to lose against myself at the Olympics. I'm always overthinking and I'll stop doing that."

She says she was at her 60% at Nationals and that the purpose of skating at 4CC was to build competition experience. She and her team have a strategy to peak at the Olympics.

"I will bounce back from these feelings of frustration. I’m glad I was able to have this experience at this competition.”

great to see mentally she is already in better place, thats the Satton we know! :luv17:

I knew I was right to believe in her it's a real warrior, I must say that after I read her interview I was worried but she proves to us again that she is incredible. Highly the Olympics

Came here to say that Satoko's SP was lowballed, mostly in the PCS. There is no way that that performance was only 0.01 better than Bradie's short and I'm not even saying Bradie's short was bad. It's such a shame the judges don't seem to appreciate her artistry.

I totally agree. And I totally do not understand why her score is lower than that of Kaetlyn Osmond who made more critical mistakes.

J8 gave +3 for Kaetlyn's combination of 3F+3T, and J5 gave -3 for Satoko's 3Lo. Just a mystery for me :noshake:

What a beautiful skate from the Tiny Queen! The most beautiful and most cohesive short program of this season by far. It's sad that it isn't rewarded rightfully in PCS and that Satoko's skating skills is not very appreciated by the judges. I don't understand how they can give Zhenya 38 and Kaetlyn 36 and Satoko only a 34 for a mesmerizing skate. She deserves more.

Also, is it just me or the UR call on her Lutz was uncalled for? I thought it was well-within the leeway. I understand the 3T but the Lutz was fine. I expected at least 72 for that skate. :(((

Poor Satoko. She didn't deserve as low of a position even with the calls. Osmond's performance was a mess and yet she's above Satoko? Unbelievable. Also, Satoko's PCS. Poor girl's getting blackballed badly this season. :(

She's never gotten 3Lz<+3T< this season and I thought that was one of her better attempts. One UR call would have been fair but two? I'm not so sure. Is this the same technical panel from the ladies' individual event? If it is then Satoko might even end up behind Bradie there.

Edit: I checked and it's not only the same, but also the one from Skate America right? And people were afraid she was gonna get away with URs.

I thought her UR call was fair, but her PCS really should have been at least 1-2 points higher. I think 71 would have been a fair score.

Satoko was lovely as always, I'm sad to see her disappointed in her score.

I think the problem here is the "consistency" in ridiculous scores.
1. they lowballed Tiny Queen's PCS (PCS 34 for that beauty)
2. they overscored Kaetlyn AGAIN for a much worse skate (way too large GOE, made mistake --> more PCS than the Tiny Queen! ugh)

I would have it as:
Evgenia (Tsarina)
Satoko (Tiny Queen)
Bradie (no URs, underscored in PCS)
Carolina (UR, simple program)
Kaetlyn (stepout and UR, was lucky to not get the +COMBO call, just barely *see Jackie's explanation*)

Poor Satoko this judgment system drives me crazy, his performance was perfect why these low PCS?
the UR are still lacking it's a shame, I think it will do better to the individual that's what counts, she is so strong and talented our tinyqueen;)

what a suprise that she couldnt even clear 35 PCS :disapp: there isnt much to say at this point, hopefully she isnt discouraged but motivated about individual event

Personally, I thought the 3T was reasonably within the quarter turn allowed. But it's not even the TES that I have major problems with, it's the PCS. At least when Satoko URs, it doesn't disrupt the performance. And her skating skills are top notch. Judges don't seem to see that and it's really frustrating.

But hey, I guess it would make for a great underdog story for the individual event....

I didn't expect much in PCS, I'm actually happy they didn't give her 33 like at 4CC. She will never get the same numbers as Carolina and Kaetlyn. The only way she can score 70 in the SP is to not get UR calls.
