Hamada look surprised with the scores too. I guess with the new rules, they have no idea what to expect.

Definitely the best SP this year. Can't wait to see the progression.

I'm confused by the edge warning on the lutz. I don't remember her ever getting that for the lutz, it was always for the flip.

i know its not Memoirs of Geisha but i still love this program for Satoko, it builds nicely and there are many lovely moments, no idea whats with her lutz but Mai got edge call on her flip last year at SCAC too and i am so happy they kept the dress!! may her jumps be rotated on LP!

I saw the protocols before I had seen the performance and was really surprised as well, I was expecting something like that but for the flip. But after looking at it, I think it was flat. Sadly there isn't a replay and I am by no means that knowledgeable. I am a bit bothered by that, she has a good outside edge, I'm hoping that this isn't turning into a trend and isn't because of an overcorrected flip. I wish Satoko good luck in the free, which I cannot wait to see, because she looked so gorgeous during The Ice.

While I’m a big fan of Satoko and her SP, I can’t help but wonder who did the music edits for it. The cuts used were great, but the transitions to the other parts of the music were poorly done. I’m mainly talking about the twizzle section right before the layback, where the editing makes the music go wildly off-tune for about two seconds, and it makes my ears hurt. There’s also a less evident one in between the 3Lz-3T and flying camel. I know Lori Nichol choreographed it, but I heard that sometimes the choreographer actually gets someone else to edit the music. Whoever it is, I hope they take another look at the work soon.

Other than that, Satoko was beautiful like always. I hope she doesn’t get too discouraged by her URs called and sells the free!

Wow, someone uploaded a live stream of US Int'l Classic on YT and when I clicked on it Satoko was skating her Piazzolla medley with a gorgeous black tango dress! The stream ended but from Jackie Wong's tweet, looks like our Tiny Queen did it ❣⛸ can't wait to watch the replay when I have time!

Her TES was correct for what she did, however her PCS dropped to 68. She made similar mistakes in her free at Worlds and she got 72 there...

Oh, that explains the look on their faces. Thanks for explaining to me. The judges better apply the same scrutiny to PCS with other skaters.
