Interesting to note the difference in Irina's TES from Japan International until now. She really knows how to work the max points out of a program.
Her base value went up from 55.8 to 57.8. At both comps, she squeezed a little extra out of the program by having 4 of the 7 jumping passes after te 2 minute mark. At Japan, she got 1 L4, 2, L3, 2 L2, and 1 L1 on non-jumps. This time, she got 4 L4, 1 L3 and 1L1. Just at a cursory glance, it sure looks like the higher levels are garnering a tad more GOE. Not sure that it SHOULD be that way (or even really if it "is" that way....Mathman??) but it's working for Irina. While she didn't do any 3/3's, she maxed the number of jumps / combinations with a 3/2/2, a 3/2 and a 3/2.
Comparing that to Arakawa, who I adore. Shiz needs to really, really work on her jumps. Her 3F in the short was called a 2F. Her attempted 3/3 in the long was called a 3/2. I'm assuming the 2R in the LP was an attempted 3R but downgraded. This is a huge problem since under-rotated jumps not only lose base value but get whacked with -GOE. She had 2L4 non jumps and 4L3. I would guess she might look to upgrade 1 or 2 of those. She also only got credit for 2 combos, so maybe a better jump strategy for her would be to forget attempting 3/3's and work on a 3/2/2 and two 3/2's.
Love the score sheets!! Can't wait for MM's remarks.
