Senior Ladies LP

I don't believe this, only three triples and Alissa nets 112.31 and wins the competition?! That is *serious* holding up through the PCS: 60.63
I'm glad I'm not the only one a little disturbed with the scoring.

I really believe if Alissa wasn't the sentimental favorite we'd be seeing a lot more people complaining about the scoring.

Alissa!!!!!!
She had me in tears during her program, it was so beautiful and I was so nervous everytime she went for a jump! Scott just HAD to bring up that tidbit about her lutz, I swear it jinxed her.

Not a perfect performance, but that was definitely a lady skating. Which is what I like best about that. We have a lady champion again!

I can't believe I only saw the very end of Ashley's skate, she won the LP!

Awww, so happy for Alissa, even though I think Rachael deserved it. I feel bad for Caroline, too. She did all she could.

I don't trust Alissa for Worlds, but hopefully she can hold it together.
I have to agree that I don't trust Alissa for worlds.

Oh well, Caroline. Try, try again.

Congrats to Rachel and Alissa! They both deserved the wins. Now it's time to step it up at Worlds and get us those 13 points!

And of all the people, Ashley in third from the last group won the LP! WHat a strong spirit girl!

I was really hoping Ashley would make the World team.. Is Nationals it? Or will the USFSA use 4CC as the final benchmark to decide who to send to worlds?

Scott is the jinx king...

can't wait to see this competition and decide for myself!

Alissa won't be scored so generously with three triples at World's. I mean, I didn't get to see the broadcast yet, and I'm sure it was gorgeous because she always is. But how is a 3-triple FS suddenly a redemption/turning point of a career of gorgeous programs that don't have the jump content? She is much worse than Sasha Cohen ever was, in terms of never quite managing two clean programs.

Sasha and Michelle, please come back! You will do great here. Sasha regularly delivered 5 triples, and Michelle often 6. I can't imagine their PCS being much lower than Alissa's.

Congratulations Alissa!! I am very happy she won.

However, you have to think that she's not happy she won with that performance and will work to fix it for Worlds.

OKay, for all who will complain, it's not the PCS's only it's QUALITY of her elements!!!. None of the other teeny jumpers ala Rachael or caroline have the quality of the landing, outflow of her successful triples. Alissa has height, flow in and out. You have to pay attention to these as well.

No surprise about Flatt going to worlds (I know this is to be decided on later but I'm sure she will get to go). I have expected that. But Alissa? Wow. She was my emotional favorite so I'm glad that she won but feel sorry about Zhang and Wagner given that they skated soooo well.

Oh Happy Day!!!! I knew she could do it. Congrats to Alissa, Rachael and
Caroline. And a special Congrats to Ashley who won the LP and came from 12th place to win the free skate, what a competitor.

Well now that it is all over, I can definitely say that Ashley had THE performance of the night. No, it wasn't totally perfect, but it was a beautiful performance. Wonder if she'll get Jr. Worlds this year, or maybe even 4CC? I hope this isn't the end of her season.

Here we go.

Another season and we have a champion who should not be the champion. This is the type of thing that is destroying figure skating. The judging here when you compare apples to apples between Flatts and Ciszny just doesn't compare. You have one skater who skates clean, has a triple triple and a nicely put together performance versus another who has a clear fall, lower difficulty but an equally nice put together performance and the one with the fall wins the event.

I'm sorry but this was Rachel Flatts victory that was clearly stolen by blind judges. I can't stand skating lately and in fact this is probably the 2nd event I've watched on tv this season. I barely watch it anymore lately due to junk like this. I guess Flatts is gonna have to get plastic surgery to make herself look like Nancy Kerrigan in order to get high presentation scores in order for her to win a national champsionship, eh?
