Now that was a great competition. I thought Dube/ Davison should have been further ahead of M/B. Heartbreaker for P/W with missing the lift. Their chances are shot. I was impressed with a couple of the junior teams who went for the big tricks. Nice to see some up-and-comers with the talent. L/H skated very well, but it is usually the LP that is their real test, so we'll see. W/F seem to have actually gotten worse since when the first became a pair. Disappointing.

Any idea why Putnam and Wirtz got 0 points for their death spiral?

It is a lift that they missed, not a death spiral.
The lift basically didn't happen.
It looked like Sean didn't get a good grip, and Liz came down immediately after takeoff.

Yes they got 0 points for that but if you look at the detailed results they got no points for what looked like an OK back-outside death spiral...

I thought it was a great night for pairs in Canada! Unfortunately for Putnam and Wirtz, barring huge errors from the rest of the field and a flawless, world class performance from them, they likely won't even make the national team. I feel for them; when they first hooked up together, I thought that they had a bright future but feel they have never achieved their potential nationally or internationally.

I feel bad for Putnam and Wirtz, but they did skate badly.

Jessica and Bryce are good but for some reason I find them boring. I still think they deserved first place though, boring or not.

I agree with whoever said Wakamatsu and Fecteau have gotten worse. Maybe they lack motivation because she's not even getting her Canadian citizenship, and they have said it's their last year so maybe there was a voice in the back of their heads saying oh whatever?

I check the detailed scores. They got 3.0 for BoDs1. Did you see it wrong?
