Serafima Sakhanovich: To Collaborate With Nikita Mikhailov is Rather Interesting
A year ago the decision of SS to change her coach and to go train to Moscow was rather unexpecting. And in the last season’s end she also unexpectignly declared about her come back to St. Petersburg to her first coach Alina Pisarenko.
That decision was made by my parents. First of all, it was connected with family circumstances. We couldn’t live in two cities at the same time any more. Me and my mother are in Moscow. My father, old sisters, grandsons, grandmother 94 y.o. – are in St.P. It was difficult to sustain this.
How did Alina Pisarenko apprehend the news about the cooperation renewal?
She was really delighted. Alina Yuryevna is my ffirst coach. I started skating under her management. The decision about returning to St.P was made in one day. I said it immediately to ET and AP. Tried to explain reasons of this decision adoption.
One of the reason of your depature to Moscow was some problem with possibility of trainings in St.P. How about this now?
So many changed for the last year. I still train in FS Academy. The icerink is enough for me. Everything suits me.
Do you come back to that you started with?
Firstly I have been kept fit till my holiday. The we with Nikita Mikhailov started trainings. The long program was made pretty easy. Over the short program was necessary to tinker. The matter was I had a couple of days till the holiday and we have to begin the job at 6 p.m., then we finished it at 1 a.m. By this time I was flat-out. I fell much, in any moment I even burst out crying because not everything turned out. It’s maybe strange, but we completed all the next day. Though the day before I arrived at home in 2 a.m., was sleeping for a several hours and woke up at 6 a.m., then I and Nikita (who lives close by me) went to the morning practice.
How it was to work with NM?
Very interesting. He’s talented man wich has many fresh original ideas. At first it was seemed to me that all he offers is difficult, but then the job was made and we began to skate our programs – my fears dissipated
Who did choose the music for the new programs?
I was hearing it during my jazz-classes. More precisely is not so. We were doing exercises under metronome sounds and I asked my coаch whether there is a continuation? So incidentally I had a record of
the Seventh symphony of Dmitry Shostakovich, wich was sent to me by my coаch, and after having thought we decided to do a program on it. Now it consists of three parts: First and the final – on Shostakovich's music, the middle one –
Mozart’s “The Reqium”. This program is about a woman wich goes to war.
Woman and War – it sounds unnaturally.
Yep, this theme is tragical. But I’m from St.P where people know about war well. My heroine isn.t exception, she goes to front. A battle, an explotion. The girl is looking at a terrible image - killed, wounded men are all around. She attempts to help, to lift the wounded ones, then she takes up arms. In that battle our defenders could to stand, the victory is in the our side, but in the just moment she is strucked with a stray bullet. The music is rather strong, the image is tragical. During the routine I have goosebumps run. The program is unusual.
And the short program?
The short program is completely different. Music was offered by Nikita. These are popular
“The sixteen tons” and
“Can’t Touch It” by Ricky Lee. The program is clockwork, it's about a happy girl who likes to flirt, but to the end she finds her love.
Where and how did you prepare to the season?
At first we went to
Valday. There is a very good rink of Gazprom. We have been worked on the programs, on equipment, paid attention to all the elements especially the 3Lz to jump this from the right edge. At the same time we had trainings on all-physical preparation, ran cross-countries, swam in a poll… Then we came back home. While there was a repair in Academy we were training at the “Yubileyny” rink, then at the Academy. After this we went to Sweden for sports collecting together with E.Rukavitsin’s group. The collecting was good – we worked, relaxed. There were beautiful places, fresh air, to run the cross-countries were pretty nice.
How do you rate the degree of the readiness to the season?
My confidence increased, I dropped 4 kg. All Is ok, I would say.
In the season you continue to compete in the junior circuit because…
Cause not all what I wanted I could to realize. The goals and the objectives are identified and I am motivated with it
