It takes my breath away when I see his record! :points: Through nagging and sometimes painful injuries, he can truly say he has always given it his all. Withdrawing has never been part of his vocabulary. I'm so proud of our warrior and hope he has time to heal well. :thank:
Thank you for your dedication, Sho!

So is Sho the first Japanese Male skater to go undefeated in a season. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I know Dai didn't and I believe Yuzu hasn't either.

I forgot how much the prize money for WTT is. Wow! Even the teams that come in 5th and 6th split a decent prize! I'm sure Shoma doesn't want to jeopardize Team Japan's possibility of 1st. I still have them in 1st for my predictions, but I think it will be really close between Japan and USA. No matter who wins, we know they all can use the $$ for their training expenses. Best of luck to all! :hap10: :party2::bsplit::hb:

1st placed team: US$ 200’000
2nd placed team: US$ 170’000
3rd placed team: US$ 160’000
4th placed team: US$ 150’000
5th placed team: US$ 140’000
6th placed team: US$ 130’000

Since the men are on, let's relive a bit of Gravity here :)

I'd forgotten how beautiful this purple Greek god costume is! I was so enamored by the costume, I didn't realize it's an advertisement for the upcoming show, The Ice. Get your tickets -- only 99 days 'til it comes to Chicago. No, never mind. April Fool's joke. Japan only.

Thank you for your insight Doc! I immediately thought stress fracture. Maybe we can have a Sho prayer circle for his ankles, feet, and any other necessary items! LOL!

:ghug:
:ghug: for Shoma. Looking at his ankle in the video where he's on the sofa makes me glad he didn't compete at WTT. Get better Shoma!!
Stephane is bringing Team Champery to Japan in the Spring so by then I hope Shoma is well enough to practice new programs (very lightly).

A couple more cast members have been named for One Piece -- Takahito Mura and Rika Hongo. I'm assuming there will be others.

This is shaping up to be a pretty solid cast- and both skaters suit their roles perfectly IMO. Mura is pretty charismatic in ice shows (he actually has a fan following from KanColle, when he did an ice show based on a game and played the role of a handsome Admiral) and Rika Hongo always brings her unique, one-of-a-kind energy and has a great sense of humor!

Also, the website https://www.onepiece-on-ice.com/ updated their description of the ice show with the following:

In "ONE PIECE ON ICE", Japan's leading skaters gather to perform "ONE PIECE" with the speed and dynamism unique to figure skating, skating in line with the lines of the anime "ONE PIECE" voice actors, making the most of the characters' characteristics. express the world of A must-see spectacle show this summer with a spectacular battle scene by group dance, projection mapping and light production!

So now we know that there will be spoken lines by the original ONE PIECE voice actors in the show. It makes sense now that they are announcing high profile skaters- they really are going to focus on how to convey the dynamism of the battle scenes on ice. And Shoma is amazing at expressing himself physically without acting in his programs, so this kind of show likely suits him a lot. I really hope they record and stream or broadcast it!
