Oh, is it this far into December already? Wow. Happy birthday to Shoma and hope he skates well at Nationals and can be proud of his performance. I hope he skates with confidence and can head into the new year with eagerness and anticipation of what is to come.

Long time, no post. Coming out of my (winter) slumber to wish Sho the happiest of birthdays, health, strength, neverending meat supplies and last but most certainly not least that he will top the season off like this :yahoo: :dance3:  with a beaming smile on his face!

deedee, your post was a delight to read, thank you! :agree:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOMA!!! :hap10: :party2:

Wishing you health and happiness! :ghug: Thank you for being an inspiration! :thank:

The blue pants are right up there with the gray ones! But we can tell a few things from the photo - it's practice because he's wearing gloves, the mighty thighs are looking back to their normal mightiness, and our Shomita DOES like to lie on the ice during practice. My guess is that he didn't fall in that position. At least I hope not! :eekn: :dbana: :scard7: [/url]

I believe the picture is from this fall. :console:

Apart from the obligatory pre-Christmas stress I'm pretty well. :) Thank you for the concern and kind words, Arriba. :o: I never really went away though. I kept stopping by to follow everyone's contributions diligently (as some of you noticed ;)). Outside of the FFs I've observed an increase of rather alienating and discouraging developments in fs fandom lately (the Olympic season has unequivocally descended upon us) and I needed to distance myself from that to preserve my optimism. I'm grateful to everyone here for making Shoma's FF such a lively and fun place and for managing to stay positive and respectful even during tough times. You girls and guys are the best! :ghug:

:hb::hb: Happy 20th birthday to Shoma! :hb::hb:

@everyone Thank you so mcuh for such nice and warm words to my post. :o::thank: I don't have as much time for my PC as before, but when I can, I surely enjoy reading all your posts and heartfelt comments here. :) Let's cheer hard for our Prince as he's heading into J-Nats then the Oly Games and Worlds together! :ghug::cheer:hap10:

@synesthesia You've been missed. I was getting worried these days and thinking of sending PM to you. Welcome back. ^)/
@demarinis Thanks as always! Will send you PM later, in a day, or two hopefully :o:.

I would love to see a clean Winter at Nationals. I don't even care about the LP. I want him to finally overcome that hurdle and hit 107. I want to see how high of a score is possible for Winter.

Happy 20th birthday, Shoma:luv17: Wishing you a wonderful year with lots of smiles. Also thank you for all people who support him, especilly his family and coaches.

I actually don't remember when I was aware of him, but I think I've been cheering him almost half of his life. I watched him live the first time in Nagoya Figure Skate Festival in 2010, then Chubu regional in 2010. He even didn't have 3-3. I was really surprised at his first 4T and 4F and happy when finally landed 3A in competion, but I remember I was also happy about his first 3-3 and surprised when he put 3Lo-3T. Really amazing how far he came.

Of course I want him to become Olympic and World champion someday, but what I want the most is he always enjoys skating and ends every season with smiles.

Isn’t this fantastic! all these wonderful thoughts on Shoma’s birthday. (I was actually served a fast steak today! and I thought very much of Shoma.) I felt so sentimental about all of your thoughts and Shoma becoming “officially” an adult, strangely regretting him not being a baby still. That’s foolish of course, and truth be told, something about this special person keeps me young, making me want to keep striving towards “mokuhyou?”, excellence, and that clean freshness of feelings.
Some thanked him for the joy they’ve gotten from him and others concerns for his health and wishes for a more balanced diet, others mention his kindness, which is so true!
All your thoughts resonated so much with me as I read them. (Arriba, the twitter clip was when my eyes started tearing)
(I was a child in 1964 as well, but I did not enjoy skating until I was blown away by Torvill & Dean in the middle of the night a very long time ago.)

And finally that quote by Alex expressed it perfectly. For Shoma is simply irresistible. And I have found him the most irresistible amongst irresistibles. (even while he tries so hard to be nothing of the sort off ice!)

I wish for Shoma incredible experiences and accomplishments as he enters his Twenties that he will surely not let go to waste, but will enjoy fully and thoroughly.

Look at this cake someone made to celebrate Shoma's birthday! It's bluerandotastic!

It even looks yummy on the inside! Strawberry, I guess?

That's art in baking! What a great cake!

Yey, so many wonderful posts with lovely thoughts and memories for his birthday! Thank you so much for sharing! As a newer fan, all these insights and thoughts of Shoma over the years has been really fun to read.

Plus, synesthesia is back! I've been observing your likes on other posts here and wondering when you'll post again. Missed your avatar of dramatic Dai pose off-ice.

And here's Verit's cool video for his birthday (because we miss her over here as well, she's very active on Twitter right now though). https://twitter.com/asverit/status/942460880947699712

Nationals coming up! Just realized the men's FS is on Christmas Eve. I hope he keeps in mind before and during the performance to "Attack!!!" and then smiles afterwards. Those smiles make the day brighter.

Great detective work on the award-winning fall, Bel! And the way he gets up is pretty wonderful too. I love the way he looks down at the ice as if to say "Hmm, I don't see a people tripper!" He's so cute! I see Javi in there, so this must be at IdF....You're right, there have been some wonderful posts this weekend. I want to look at everything again just to enjoy everything one more time. That cake looked pretty amazing too, didn't it? Both inside and out!

And now we know there really IS a Coach Fluffy's Bar! https://pic.twitter.com/MULGYrAjXm

So...It is official that Yuzuru is out of Nationals. We wish him a full recovery and come back strong.

Which means, it is all about Shoma defending his Nationals title! You can do this! GO GO GO!!!:hap10:

Yeah, unfortunate that we don't get to see a Yuzuru vs. Shoma fight in the second year in a row. Maybe next year? If we're honest this title will go to Shoma. Last year Mura won the SP, so there might be a little surprise in there this year, but I really don't think so. So, we can fully concentrate on Shoma's performance. I hope that he'll improve from GPF and IdF. I'm not asking for perfection, as we know he doesn't have to be. But Nationals is also important as we've seen how the other skaters are/will be scored in comparison. And it's (if he doesn't go to 4CC) his last big competition before the Olympic Games. Perhaps a chance to get a bit of steam and confidence!
