wow, my section had a lot of Shoma’s fans, and we collectively screamed ourselves raw as he was saving landing after landing! Absolutely beautiful to watch otherwise, and I don’t find this rearrangement of Bolero annoying, but I think it’s not all Bolero?

Do you guys know why he changed the ending pose? I much prefer the original bent-knee starfish pose, though it does seem to take a lot of energy to make it not look like a complete star fish.

We were speculating that possibly it was hard to stop the movement on that last pose, and if he keeps moving, could he possibly get a time violation.

Thankfully it’s only half a day of competition tomorrow and then a gala where I hope to see Shoma again!

This part by Shoma sums up his mindset to me:
I wanted to confirm how far I reached at this moment in this comp and I found there’re still a lot I need to polish. What’s good about this comp is that I wasn’t afraid of mistakes and I did try what I could there.

He pretty much trained himself, like many others. And, he did show himself he has come so far in every way. He's got a lot of heart to go out and just reach down and do everything in that program and not be afraid. Once he's back with his coach full time, the world is his oyster.

Omg, now I wish I stayed for medal ceremonies. But between the time difference and my getting to the arena before 8 am, and the emotional rollercoaster, and buses in Vegas having problems running on schedule, I just wanted to get to my hotel…

I want another duet skate of Shoma and Stepen for this step sequence.... like they did with Vivaldi's Winter on FOI 2018.

Just the last happy sigh before going to bed and flying home tomorrow. Shoma’s exhibition was beautiful, and this trip with all the inconveniences and things costing too much was so worth it. I was so happy to finally watch Uno in a live event, and do so well, and just be free of the dread of the pandemic. Hope to get home tomorrow with all the wonderful memories, and to make sure there are more trips to see Shoma and others again in the future. It gotta get better!
