Yeeey! It is the best news for me from weibo.

I have been concerned that Olympics may be no spectator. It was the biggest worry.
Olympics without audience is painful. I really realized it at Tokyo Olympics this summer.
After 2 months since Tokyo Olympics, the World championship of artistic and rhythmic gymnastics was held in Japan, Kitakyusyu, with full audience. Athletes really were pleased with the audience, and mentioned how the audience was important, and gave them powers after the experience of Tokyo.
For a skater like Shoma, who has the artistry and connects deeply with audience, audience is a must. I really have wished, please please with audience!

And I read, from Weibo (so it's not official, but it must be more certain) that the tickets won't be sold to public, but be allocated to public companies, sponsor companies in Beijing! Accordingly, fans cannot watch live, but those companies' people are audience. I think, it's a good thing for Shoma. Unlike figure skating fans, they don't have bias, and simply will cheer up for wonderful performances. Not just classical music, ballet, but Chinese traditional opera (京劇)... The quality of art culture in Beijing is high, and they must have good eyes. Shoma's programs must please their eyes. From my point of view, audience is more important than judges in Olympics.

(Of course, it was best if Chinese figure skating fans could go:(, but under these circumstances, at least, being able to avoid no-audience is big for figure skating event.)

Thank you! @demarinis5 for Chunichi newspaper photos!

Shoma Uno chose this season's SP as first skating this year. 'Two competitions are left. I could make it the best SP than ever.'. He dared not do ice show numbers. He wants fans to look forward to his performance at Beijing, followed by WC.

At Nationals, he got an injury of the right ankle before FS again. 'I have no problem with skating. I can get the jump as long as it does not burden the right leg so much." He has the strong determination to fight with yuzuru and Nathan chen in the best condition.

"Once, I felt like that I could not defeat Nathan, but I came to think I can compete with him" . Chen is going to start the career as a doctor, so it may be the last match.

Stephane coach affects his highly-difficult layout including 4 kinds of quads. "Not to be afraid of one mistake, but to have the hope for one success". He has changed his attitude so far, "I don't want to make even a single mistake."

Second Olympics for him. He does not wish to convey something. But he felt the interest of sports in "the moment" showing in competitions regardless of success and failure at the Tokyo Olympics last summer. "The efforts accumulated taking a long time definitely appear in the moment. I wish my moments would be pleasing." He longs for the sparkle of one moment and keeps practicing at Chukyo Ice rink.

Reports from Twitter are saying that he did two 4Ts and a 3A while performing Oboe, as well as a 4S in the finale. Dude, that's not the bare minimum content, please don't scare me anymore! 😱The red costume looks new!

A little video

Edit: At least this seems reassuring, other reports also say he did the jumps well. 🙂

So this red costume is for you to see for the first time? Fmm... I guess, his side supposes the color of red has more impact than blues. And red suits with China more and will be loved. Yeah, personally, I prefer the original blue so much. It's really sick. His costumes always have a wonderful sense and amuse us.

Please manager-san, have Sho talk about his costumes in his next Now Voice. There's no way he would reveal a new Oly costume in a small show like this, right? Besides, what was the costume Mathieu Caron showed on his Insta? Nothing there was red. Help! Don't recall ever seeing this one. We're confused and need to know. :bang: :tantrum: :dbana:

The red is definitely reminiscent of Moonlight Shomata blue, but WAIT!!! This can't possibly mean he is abandoning the Greek god award-winning costume, right?! Please reassure us Sho!!! I've always loved him in red though!
I also hope he won't replace that beautiful sparkly costume, but the red one is still a good costume! Maybe it will be used for the Sholero...

These jumps are pretty reassuring, though. 👍

You know Sho Arriba he likes to surprise his fans. Remember when he showed up at 4CC's with the Yellow Turandot costume and the slicked back hair.

We all did a collective "WHAT". When asked in an interview why the change he laughed and said the blue one was being cleaned.

Wow, I really did not expect ANY quads today yet he delivered 3! 😄 And a 4S too! Seems that his ankle is healing well, which is reassuring!

The red costume is pretty but nothing can beat the Greek God costume. Also I think it fits the program better. I hope it's going to have the Olympic moment it deserves!!
Shoma is however looking gorgeous and I do love seeing him in red 🥰

As for the costume, I was searching for the arena of Beijing Olympics. It is important for costumes to fit with the venue.
And this is like that.. Probably the Greek God would be better although the red has an impact..

Now Mei-Fes ended, and he won't go to intensive camp in Europe? Staying in Japan will be better. I have checked Men's schedule, and only Men team and individuals (and ice dance FD) starts around past 9AM (others are at night time). It's so early! And nowadays PCR or so is added. It is very tough for skaters to adjust themselves. Going from Japan, only 1-hour time difference. It would be big.

I love him in red and I see it as a break from his blue possibly just a little gift for his hometown fans. What a nice surprise for everyone.
The blue fits the program more, IMO, but the red would be better for Bolero. There is no better costume than the blue for the sp. He looks fabulous in it and fabulous is what is needed to go along with his skating skills. Good to know he's staying safe in Japan although I had hoped he would be with his coach leading up to the Olympics. Better that he's safe in his bubble but it's Beijing bubble that's worrisome to me.

I've been reading some of the commentary regarding the Nagoya Festival extolling the historic fact that Shoma was the first in Japan Nationals to land 4 different quads and they all received positive GOE. He landed some beauties at the festival. Ankle didn't look like it was holding him back.
