It'll be very interesting to see the full version of Shoma's new FS once it's finished (I guess they still have work to do with the layout and the coreography). Personally I'm very excited to see the step sequence; I very much liked the steps in both Shoma's programmes last season, and also the step sequence in his new SP (judging by the videos from Fantasy on Ice shows) looks already amazing in my opinion. His costume looked much much better than I had expected after having seen photos of it - sue me, but I really like the neckline and the dark drape-like stuff around it.
Also I hope that the dramatic music encourages Shoma to express himself more on ice, in terms of showing different emotions and new sides of himself. He's already been quite expressive and artistic in his past programmes (more than most other skaters in his age actually), but there's always room for improvement, and I think the music especially requires him to improve his artistic side. I'm being nitpicky now, but I'd still like to point out that while his stern on-ice facial expressios might well suit certain types of music and coreography, they might also make him look like he's just focusing very hard and not really expressing emotions, especially if the music he's skating to is very emotional and epic, which I think is the case with his new FS. Of course we haven't seen the final coreography yet, and I'm definitely not saying that expression is all about what a skater does with their face, but it could be somewhat alienating if Shoma just... stares through the programme. I'm hopeful, though, since if he chose the music for his FS himself, he must have some kind of an emotional connection to it, which hopefully shows in the way he interprets the coreography. End of rant.
