Thank you @mikaboo for your live report! Looking forward to seeing Shoma's FS!

Hi @deedee I do see a resemblance to Tetsuya (love him) but in reality he could be Shoma's father, ;)
can you believe Tetsuya is 43 now.

Oh yes, so true! At 43 he's still gorgeous, isn't he?! I love him as of now, more than, say, he was in his 20s/30s (when he appeared more arrogant. a bit too much to my liking if you ask me ;))

My god, you are right. Poor boy.

I am glad Kenji gave him some advice on expression... Even though he also tortured him. ;) Very useful.

Shoma's new FP!, maybe its just me but i have no idea how program is like though,as usual its still new program and since they cut the music for DOI but it felt empty , but his 3A looks bigger to me, and dont like the costume :hopelessness:

Here is the second part of Shoma's interview with Kenji Miyamoto.
I didn't think it was possible but he's even MORE shy here. I thought at some points he was going to hyperventilate.
Kenji was teasing him almost the whole time...be kind to shy people Kenji! ;)

Translation. Thanks to translator!

Oh wow, poor kid. He definitely fares better if he's got other people around to make him feel a bit more comfortable. He'll get used to interviews, hopefully.

His new program is just a skeleton, so I wouldn't worry about the emptiness. He should watch Denis Ten's 2014/15 SP to take pointers how to fill this sort of music. I like the costume, but then I usually like the off-the wall stuff. His jumps were beautiful, so smooth and big.

It'll be very interesting to see the full version of Shoma's new FS once it's finished (I guess they still have work to do with the layout and the coreography). Personally I'm very excited to see the step sequence; I very much liked the steps in both Shoma's programmes last season, and also the step sequence in his new SP (judging by the videos from Fantasy on Ice shows) looks already amazing in my opinion. His costume looked much much better than I had expected after having seen photos of it - sue me, but I really like the neckline and the dark drape-like stuff around it.

Also I hope that the dramatic music encourages Shoma to express himself more on ice, in terms of showing different emotions and new sides of himself. He's already been quite expressive and artistic in his past programmes (more than most other skaters in his age actually), but there's always room for improvement, and I think the music especially requires him to improve his artistic side. I'm being nitpicky now, but I'd still like to point out that while his stern on-ice facial expressios might well suit certain types of music and coreography, they might also make him look like he's just focusing very hard and not really expressing emotions, especially if the music he's skating to is very emotional and epic, which I think is the case with his new FS. Of course we haven't seen the final coreography yet, and I'm definitely not saying that expression is all about what a skater does with their face, but it could be somewhat alienating if Shoma just... stares through the programme. I'm hopeful, though, since if he chose the music for his FS himself, he must have some kind of an emotional connection to it, which hopefully shows in the way he interprets the coreography. End of rant.

A real positive of what is a bit hard to judge at this stage is that he isn't getting lost in the music at all. He looks powerful. And I do think his jumps seem a bit bigger.

Just watched it. It's empty, but it's so early in the season and this is a show number.

What's great is that as others mentioned, he's really embracing the music and it's not to big for him.

Just finish watching the the FS from DOI; I have to say that he did skate very big and grand, and to be connected to the music quite well as well. I think the choreography was good too. As mentioned it's a truncated version of the real thing, but I felt it looked quite promising. I can do without the vocal, but oh well.

I hope he can get on the podium at SA and start out his senior season with a bang!

Hi, this is my first post to this thread.
When I saw him live at Japanese National 2014, I was overwhelmed by his incredible speed and star power. I’m expecting his future.
Further, I love his new LP so much! I hope he’ll get on the podium this season:).

Along with my usual Yuzu sketching, I've added Shoma too. Farewell to the Deep-V-neck, hello to the low scoop-neck.

Well done! I’m always jealous of those who have some talent to express their thought with their works of art. Their features, especially their lovely costumes are well described. And Shoma’s Deeeeep-V-neck was my favorite:biggrin:...

There's a tiny clip of Shoma at the end...this is the Fantasy on Ice Kanazawa show that opens tomorrow.
Alas! His ugly green shirt has been changed to a even more blinding green.
What about a nice dark velvet green? Or a dark, dark peacock blue turning into green?

This is just me bellyaching. Never mind. I think this means he will skate his new short program at the show. Hooray!

Edit: on second, third and forth look; it's not so bad. :drama:

Thanks.

It's a contemporary program - I think velvet wouldn't be appropriate in this case. Only if it was a velvety looking T-shirt.

I actually really like that green shirt! Maybe this cut and the more fitted style suits him better? ( too my eyes anyway)

Nicely done! I took a look at your other works and you're very talented  Thanks for sharing.

About the new Peter Pan shirt, I actually liked the strange shade of green of the first version but this looks ok as well. Lots of greens from TJ next season.

Nam just tweeted that he landed a side by side 4T with Shoma at FaOI Kanazawa finale

I also heard Shoma fell on one before it and hit his head. :slink:
