Hi, yhmafan.
Those movies(mads) who made by my twitter fiends. Her name is lilico.
She is a big fan of Shoma.
so,I will tell her. She must be happy to hear that.:hap10:
Thank you for the answer. I’m already a fan of lilico-san’s works. :luv17:

I think Coach Higuchi is really terrific for the emotional / mental side of Shoma's skating. I love seeing them in the Kiss and Cry together. It seems like they really have a genuine affection for each other. I can still picture them together in the K & C after Shoma's Worlds performance where he was so devastated. She really seemed to be doing her best to comfort him!...His relationship with her reminds me a lot of Jason Brown's situation with his wonderful coach (Kori Ade). Kori has been coaching him since he was a little boy.

I love to see them in K&C too and Jason and his coach together seem to be good too that shows how important to have wonderful coach for a skater and while their careers.
For me, every time that moment reminds me of Yuzuru and Nanami Abe’s good old days.

Thanks. I had a trip to Czech last summer and it was just beautiful and safe place. Ive heard you once lived in abroad. I hope I can improve myself with English also.
Of course, i’m going to competitions in Europe. Taking tickets is MUCH easier than in Japan…

I assumed he may show his new SP at the show of PIW in mid July which you say. But now I think the possibility that Shoma will do his new SP at THE ICE is higher. He will skates 4 times at PIW (he will appear for 2 days, 2 shows per day and in PIW skaters usually do one program per show.) He needs to polish his so difficult new LP before audience. So I guess he will hold his new SP until THE ICE of

Thanks for your words for my moving. Im looking forward to going to competitions there. If I can get a ticket, I want to go to Worlds 2017. Hope I can meet you

This is yuna’s “Make me like you” by Katina, which mikaboo mentioned . I didn’t know it is her work. I didn’t see her competition skater days live, but I found her videos of youtube with her ex-husband, and fell in love with them! Im sue I’ll never have such graceful and elegant couple as G&G in the skating field.

I'll see you at Worlds! Section 117, Row 15, Seat 1:yahoo:...Yuna's choreo from Katia was very nice. That inspired me to watch some of G & G and (my favorite) their 1988 Calgary Olympics FS. So beautiful. It was so sad when Grinkov died. I think he was only 30. (oops - he was 28)

The longest I was abroad was when I spent 11 weeks in Mexico. Besides family and friends, most people miss their country's food the most. That was certainly the case for me!

So now we have 3 things to keep us in suspense with Shoma - his SP costume (purple?), his SP, and with whom will he train in the U.S.

Here's the interview with Shoma mentioning Anthony Liu and Ilia Kulik.

Translation from his tumblr fan page.
Very interesting interview with Shoma. The lutz edge seems to be a common problem, and the judges seem to be a lot stricter about it now. I remember when Shoma had his skate-of-a-lifetime FS at the Grand Prix final. He only had one small error - the wrong edge on his triple lutz! :drama:

G & G's FS at the '88 Olympics (for me) was one of the best pairs skates ever! Such a shame that Grinkov died of a massive heart attack at 28...I've always loved pairs because of how risky it is. But men's is risky now too because of all the jumps.

I'm not familiar with Katia actually, but I see G/G's name a lot on GS. That's what happens when you live in Japan - not much coverage nor interest in pairs :ohwell:
:
I find this page is useful when you see G/G's performances, which lists their performances with youtube site.:) When you read the comments, you will want to see them. You can enjoy this summer.

The powerful performances at 1988 Olympics which Arriba mentioned are so nice. My other recomendation is Romeo and Juliet (perfect match for the beautiful two!) and Moonlight sonata at 1994 Olympics (costume, atmosphere, ...it feels like they were in another world.)

Thanks to you both :luv17: I don't know how we got here (educating me on G/G) on Shoma's thread

To keep us on topic, there are some cute pictures of Shoma and Yuzuru and Satoko during the gala rehearsal at GPF 2015 on this facebook page. Shoma doing a big yawn is especially funny

Somehow we got from Shoma to Katia doing choreo for someone, and now back to Shoma again! Sorry for the diversion. :slink:Love the gala photos!

I just found it amusing how seemingly far away we can get from Shoma, but it's not that far at all  It's fun so let's keep on getting off topic :)
And I just realized Shoma couldn't have gone to Ilia because Ilia is skating at FaOI Kobe and Nagano.

Oh - the guessing game continues! Where is Shoma kun?! And do we know if he has left Japan yet? And no Ilia? Hmmm - big mystery. I was thinking maybe The Cricket Club, even if only for a few days. Then I saw that Brian O and David Wilson are in Japan. :gaah:..Funny thing, I was in the Toronto airport yesterday and realized subconsciously I was hoping for a Shoma or Yuzu sighting! No such luck though. I thought for sure there would be something on TV about Shoma leaving, just because there's so little off season news...Liu and Mills are my guess right now.

My usual off-topic when I talk about Shoma is to talk about Jason Brown because I find so many similarities between the two. :hijacked::otopic:

Oh that Romeo and Juliet. Be still my heart. Their unison is incredible, she is ethereal, and he is an amazing partner.

The bolded part makes me so happy because I just find Jason so delightful.

You should have looked for Wakaba in Toronto! I read that she is at The Cricket Club now.
Somehow, I can't see Shoma training under Brian Orser at all. Maybe because of this interview he did with PJ Kwong. I was surprised that he thought he had to keep an eye out on Shoma but I guess it's a compliment.

My guess is Anthony Liu too.
My next question is, what is Ilia going to do with his time in between Kobe and Nagano shows? Has anyone invited him over to fix some jumps? :otopic:

I was secretly hoping they'd take Mako Yamashita too if it's like a team training camp. From her last competition, it looked as though she was going through a growth spurt and losing her jumps. But she'll have to go to the JGP selection meet soon so probably not.

Thanks for the interview. I actually read it when it was posted. I might be remembering wrong, but I thought I read or watch the interview Shoma said someting like
- he got some advices from a few people, but there are no particular people who fixed his Lutz.
- he almost fixed it before summer training camp (that means before Ilia gave advice to him).
So, my understanding was his team invited Anthony Liu to get quads and got some advice about Lutz, too. I tried to find out that interview, but unfortunately I couldn't.
Anyway, I think Anthony Liu is good for Shoma.

Regarging Mako, she went to Stephane's skating school last summer or fall. I'm hoping now he gave some advice to her (of cource Shoma and Kanako, too) when he was at Chukyo Uni' rink. I'm really looking forward to her debut at JGP.

Today Takahiko held wedding reception. Kanako was there with Shizuka, Mao, Mai and Takahito, so she didn't go to the U.S. with Shoma. I think he already started training there.

Brian wouldn't be right for Shoma at all. Plus people are already talking about how Brian is too busy. Hopefully other people can work with Ilia and take advantage of him being in Japan.

I didn’t know Brian’s paid attention to shoma. Its interesting even if it’s a complement (He is a truly brilliant spokesperson. Lol)
Oh that Romeo and Juliet. Be still my heart. Their unison is incredible, she is ethereal, and he is an amazing partner.

Their unison is just awesome. Of course technical level is increasing every year, but I cant see such an unison any more. Further, they are so beautiful and picture-perfect like a prince and princess in a novel, it’s like a miracle!
Further., to see their performances, I feel a lot about their basics of ballet and find ballet training is so useful for skaters.
The other day, I read Mihoko sensei’s interview as a choreographer. Yes, she says shoma’s taken ballet lessons since he was a child, although he did it“unwillingly”. Anyway, it was nice he’s kept ballet!
Further, when she teachs him a coreo, he does it for 2 hours by himself after his practice! He interprets it by his own sense and it becomes somewhat different from her coreo, but she wants to cherish his sense. He creates “THE Shoma” program.
About music of Olympic year, at this stage she has no plan. Shoma’s grown so much for the past half a year, and he’ll change so much also from now.
Her strength as a choreographer is she’s watched skaters since their childhood and knows their characteristics like the timing of taking off of jumps.

Very interesting to read Mihoko sensei's comments regarding Shoma, choreography, ballet, etc. My impression was that he only recently started ballet, but I guess that was incorrect. When I heard that Boyang Jin is taking ballet, it made me hope Shoma was too!
I hope we hear some news soon about what they are doing!

Love Johnny's Moonlight Sonata, except for the white costume. Eek! Beautiful piano.

i find this costume lovely. This is very Johnny.
This pianist is Kotaro FUKUMA. I knew him at last year's FaOI and went to his concert. He's wonderful performer and he loves figure skating (his father once had lessons from Nobuo SATO (Yuka SATO's father, Mao's coach). Now he lives in Europe. He met Stephane there (went to an ice show?) since he was Stephane's fan, and said to him that he was a pianist and wanted to work with him. After that, Stephane came to his concert and listened to his performance. Then, Stephane invited him as a pianist at his show ICE LEGENDS 2014!
This June, Kotaro had a concert at Tokyo during his stay, and Stephane came to here! I was going to this, but i missed. I feel very sorry. If i had been there, i could have seen Stephane, (and showed my deep gratitude for his performances and great devotion for figure skating and Japanese figure skating fields.) :otopic:

Now Shoma is the top skater of Japanese Men field. Someday he will have a chance to do a collaboration program with a musician at any show or exhibition.:) Catching every piece of live music is very difficult, and sometimes, a musician overwhelms a skater. Of course, shoma wouldn't fall in such a situation!.
