I still can't believe Shoma is jumping different kinds of quads. 4T, 4F, 4S, and even trying 4Lz !

It's just 3-4 seasons ago fans were praying, "What else Shoma needs is only 3A! Just 3A! So please God  Then, he could be a junior world champ!"

We might be in a parallel world :reye:

Stay healthy, Shoma! This is another thing we have to pray for God :palmf:

I think you meant 4Lo.

Shoma and Lutz are like cats and dogs.

The purple pants brought good luck. Like they always say -- "short program, just get it done! You can't win it with the short, but you can lose it!" Hooray for big thighs! Proud of you Shoma.

Shoma says he was too focused on jumps today and there are some unsatisfactory other elements .About FP, he will bring 4loop although the successes rate is still low. Even if he might miss it, he shall challenge it.

Honda-san and Dai says his experession was more emotional today and his movements showewd some growth.

Now im back... :drama:

Glad you're back! Maybe we will see you on the ice at the Olympics?! :hap10: Very heartfelt performance from the Lavender Prince. Lost just a tiny bit of concentration on the final spin, but who cares?! Just get it done. Glad for him. He looked really happy. His determination and concentration are admirable! :points:

ETA -- Back to bed for me! It was worth it though to get up early! :)

I absolutely agree with the uncles! I think this is the best Shoma has performed "Ladies in Lavender". That was an outstanding performance on all fronts! Wow!!! And look at that score. (I think his PCS could've even been a tad bit higher. Or others could've been lower in comparison. *cough*)

The FS will be a thriller - can't wait!!! :yahoo::hap57:

I just woke up and looked at the protocols and I am very happy for Shoma! Well done!

I have not watched the videos yet so I cannot comment. Be back later.

Finally 100! YES...I would have put him closer to Chen though. Anyway, I think this is the perfect position for Shoma for the free. He is not the leader, so he doesn't have that pressure and his fabulous long is much much better than the short. Soooo....what do you say, is it really possible? Might Shoma stake a claim and win this?

And I also agree, he's coming over as much more mature... only the last spin was a bit off. I'm so happy for him and fluffy Higuchi!

Oh..the competition thread is starting to get bitter about Shoma's jumps, who would've guessed. Time to leave....:slink:

Congratulations to Shoma!! Finally cracking 100 points like I knew he could! Definitely a better showing than last year's 4CC. He's also setting himself up very well for worlds at this rate.

And also my sincerest congrats to Shoma, who not only mesmerizes me with his skating every single time, but also has by far my favorite SP of the season. Such a gorgeous program. It warms my heart to see him join the 100+ club with that program. :luv17:

Honda-san says about his nailed 4F and leaned axis 4T, his practice saved him. Shoma worked hard so much and his effort paid off.:)

I really see his improve with his artistry. His heart was in his movements more than ever.

Congrats Shosho my love.
That inside spread eagle into the monster triple axel was the best jump of the entire competition frankly. I am surprised it didn't get straight 3s. It should have!!!!
Beautiful interpretation also. Last spin not so good but hey.
Hope he can slay the FS and WIN!!!!!!!!

Watching Shoma's SP and the BESP uncles are all like YES! everytime he lands something. They're such fanboys.

Watching the program again, I think I agree with the score, because there is a lot of potential to skate this SP better than he did here. The triple axel obviously was the highlight, but he jumped that flip better. I'm proud that he got that 4-3 combination, wow. But his spins were a bit wonky and the steps...he left some points on the table for his usually easy elements. I think that was the difference between 1st and 2nd today. Now he has to keep up the good tech for the free, Nathan Chen beat his program at the GPF and Shoma did skate very good there. I think the PCS gap between them should be higher, or else we see a repat of the GPF podium. I think Nathan Chen, while obviously really talented and a good jumper, has programs that aren't iconic enough. I don't know what next season will bring, and of course...the best should win, but I really hope that Nathan Chen will improve his programs if he is ought to win. I mean look at SpiderJin, Jin skates much sloppier but that program is so much more fun.

What do you think about concerning the next season? I would like to have Shoma skate to something more modern in the SP, like the Legends SP of last season and maybe something classical in the free? This might be the winner program, I want something epic from Shomajesty (stole that one from Youtube)

The best emotion I've seen from Shoma with this Lavender SP. :luv17: It grows on me finally. :luv17: Even without jumps I can watch this all day, but omg that monster 3A from INSIDE spread-eagle. :jaw::rock: Well deserved 2nd place. Congarts!:clap:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xytyB-XiINM :) I love whenever commentary gets silence and so into the performance, just like us in front of TV/PC.

Good luck again to Shoma in FS Sunday! :yay: With mistake or not, I just want to be mesmerized again with his performance. :)

Congrats to Shoma for joining the 100 plus club! Gorgeous flow and speed across the ice and his interpolation
was first rate. He has improved everything in his program (except his spins were a little off today).
