I posted earlier a possible protocol using Shoma's highest GOEs so far this season and his potential, if he actually manages a clean 4-quad 2-3As FS and an even cleaner SP, is higher than even a 5-quad Nathan, both in terms of GOEs and taking into account too that Shoma has a small but not insignificant PCS advantage that will shoot up if he goes clean. So I am glad he and his team have decided to drop the 4S for now and focus on the 4-quad FS, since the 4Lo is still a very new element that he's only tried twice in competition and it is still very inconsistent (heck, Yuzu has been trying it since the beginning of the season, in both SP and FS, and he's managed it only about 40-50% of the time! It ain't easy). Also, he needs to concentrate on getting the 4F in his SP to a higher GOE as well, since that's where it tends to fail more.

I mean, I won't be surprised if he brings the 4S and a 5-quad program next season, but then he'll have some time to train that program and it'll be AFTER Worlds, where Olympic spots will be decided. I am hoping that my favorites will have clean-ish performances at Worlds. Here's crossing all my fingers for everyone to do their best and be happy with how they skated.

Yes to Here's crossing all my fingers for everyone to do their best and be happy with how they skated. Also want to add that an injury-free competition for everyone is at the top of my wish list. There was a concussion at U.S. Nats this year, and it really does put a bit of a damper on things. And the previous year Nathan sustained his injury. Not a fun thing! Plllleeeasee skating Gods! :bow:

oh, he’s saying he's not trying a 4s coz he couldn’t handle it . He was too busy practicing others. He says he can join an over 300 club if he perform his best.
Btw, I like a sweater he’s wearing. It’s so Shoma...:laugh15:

I hope for this too...this is my favourite FS of all Men this season and I just want it to flow seamlessly with this dramatic music, lady voice screaming 'Loco' and 'Piantao' and this mystery expression of Shoma...I do feel like stepping down from 4S idea in competition for now is a good, conscious choice - let it gel more and for know he would be able to focus more on perfecting current layout, transitions between and other elements.

I hope that we'll witness all best from Shoma in Helsinki and him being satisfied with effort and work he'll put in this competition. And I hope too for fierce competition, great passionate performances and energy and motivation flow between all competitors from only strong skates, hope champions will be built on the very best, not on others mistakes as I'd love to see a great competition most of all:)

My poor grandson has a lot of people chasing him. He's too cute for his own good. I love the tango hair, his huge Bambi eyes, the big nose (kinda like on MaiKatze's old avatar), his eyeliner, AND ETA his pink fingernail polish. I think the kissable lips need some Burt's Bees chapstick! :luv17:

ETA-- C. du Printmps has posted some nice videos on their FB page. Love the one where he's working on his SP. Looking good. Love the glorious 3A and the 3 jump combo.

also agreed with Arriba, Viktor Nikiforov needs to come put some chapstick on poor Shomita's kissable lips.
in other news, his jumps are looking good!! Hope he doesn't do something stupid like peaking at Coupe de Printemps (and Daddy Mura does look great. so sad too he won't be at worlds)

What are his other nicknames?? I am curious. I call him Shosho sometimes bc i think it's hilarious but it's not a "nice" nickname. I like Shomita it's cute and kinda sounds Spanish to match his firy temperament on the ice <3
