Hi Shoma fans!
Recently, a lot of Shoma fans have revealed their identity so I too have decided to show myself :luv17:
I've been a huge fan of Shoma's since last season but he first caught my eye when I was watching figure skating to watch Yuzuru back in 2015-2016 GPF (just like Hronop hehe). His 'Turandot' really caught my eyes and that night even though Yuzuru remade history, for some reason it was Shoma's performance that left an impression in my heart. It was my first time seeing him and I really felt his burning passion and power he had for his skating. That magical performance made me feel so warm and powerful and content.

A year had passed and I almost forgot about figure skating but one day on youtube the same video of Shoma's Turandot came about along with his Lavendar performance. That got me immediately hooked. More than anything I love Mihiko sensei's choreography that matches so well with Shoma's style. He really sells his performances and
Shoma's lavendar is of a young man who appears to be chasing something precious but no matter how hard he tries he can't seem to grasp that something. His soul is screaming in pain, as he gets closer to it, that something falls out of his hands and disappears. His last spin is him screaming out of agony - that's how I see it. His spins and step sequence are pure perfection and I love them - they are so varied, so fast, so centred (when he does well!) and his hand movements are so beautiful. Ah, anyway, I feel that Loco and Lavendar are kind of similar in a way because his soul is screaming in both of them.

These were precisely my feelings when I watched that GPF! Yuzuru had obviously a cracking and devastating skate there, but Shoma had something else that was somehow more... humane, I guess. He hooked me there with his cantilever. :eking: TAT's comments helped a lot, too -- she adores him, and calls him all kinds of silly pet names like 'a little one', 'a cutie', 'a sweetheart' and so on.
Both programs of the last season were sensational, I think. I got completely crazy with Lavender -- watched the movie, even bought tons of staff with lavender (like soap, gel, shampoo etc.); and I am a mature man, mind you, not some oversensitive adolescent girl. Not sure what to do with this Winter theme now -- it was so much easier with Lavender, he should have probably sticked to the floral theme.

Very interesting about the "more human" part. I agree. It reminds me when Jonathan Beyer said that the essence of Shoma is that he is slightly flawed but captivating.

Also for your shower gels, this made me laugh ahah. But you will have lots of options with winter too!!!

So much new fans in Shomaland ! Welcome all ! Talking about the epic GPFs of Shoma make me even more excited about the new season! Summer is terrible :hap85:

I think it's high time we created an official motto of Shomaland. My pick is something like 'once lavender, always lavender'. :) Or, if people here fancy Latin, 'Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro Uno' (a variation of 'one for all and all for one', but with a pun on Uno, which makes it 'Uno for all and all for Uno'. :yahoo:

But Shoma himself betrayed the 'Once Lavender, Always Lavender!' when he went for blue! :drama:

Well, he had some lavender bits there methinks. :) But I agree -- what a shame he abandoned his lavender costume at Worlds...

Hi, just curious is there any particular reason why everybody here calls Mihoko 'Fluffy'.

Here is Coach Fluffy in her fluffy, pink coat -- named for us by MaiKatze. Well done, MaiKatze! :thank: And Happy Birthday to an amazing coach. Shoma is so fortunate to be with her.

ETA -- Finally found it, my favorite slap from Coach Fluffy. Wonder what that was all about?! Right at the very beginning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w389dPMf7Ho

Oddly enough, at the 2016 JNats, coach Yamada is wearing a furry coat while Her Fluffiness is wearing what looks like a raincoat. Perhaps there is a pecking order. ;) Wonder what Kanako will wear if she apprentices under them.

I remember at first I was so focused on Shoma's tears but then later noticed Yamada's fluffy coat. If Kanako joins them, they will need to get their coats coordinated. One thing is for sure, the two of them do give the BEST hugs!

ETA -- And how about those nails??!! :jaw:

Welcome, rare species of the male Shoma fan (but then even British Eurosport say, "He's a very attractive guy!")

And yeah, happy Birthday Fluffy Higuchi! May your presents be loads of colourful fluffy coats, stylish hair color products and nice nails, which correspond with Shoma's costumes in the next season! And wow, you look amazing, can't say it enough.

Check out Kanako's instagram, and you will know that she is fluffy and nail ready. :drama:

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!! I've always loved how civil and kind this thread was
@Arriba627 I would link my twitter account if it was more decent but all I do is retweet so there won't be a difference following me and any other Shoma fan XD

Anyway, SHOMA UPDATE:
Yesterday Shoma skated at Chukyo university's open day as a special guest!
Apparently he skated to 'This Town' and Hongo Rika and Ando Miki were there too!

Shoma is so great isn't he? Prioritising these kind of events and ice shows over his practice

Shoma in the Prince Ice World finale. Haven't seen too many videos. Now starts the season of Shoma vs. choreography! :luv17: Looks like he did ok here.

Thanks for the video! Also, the opening of the show. All credits to 221320 Green for the videos.

Shoma's wearing his red costume and doing "scary" split jumps! Sweet how Kanako sort of gestures to introduce him.

I didn't realize that Machida was quite popular, you can hear some excitedly screaming ladies in the audience when he came out. 😂
