OMG Arriba you are becoming Shomita's spokeswoman while he is in US, how cool is that!

I'm not sure how good or bad that is, but it is what it is. I'm not sure if his team realizes how much people want to hear/read news about him! Sometimes I feel like he gets overshadowed by others! I suppose this summer we can't complain too much, considering we have been able to see him on the variety show, the June Glacier show, the ColanTotte thing, and lots of ice show stuff. Go Shomita!...Now I think there will be total silence until Lombardia! :noshake:

Speaking of spins, he often gets his levels and GOE without needing to include a Biellman and as we saw in the videos, he slowed considerably when he tried it, so I think he's just messing around and not really going to include it. I also love how centered his scratch spin was in those spin videos. And there was even clockwise spinning attempts? Satton is rubbing off on Shoma.

Did you mean Satan? Because yeah.... the  would need to have bad influence on Shoma if he were to include a Biellman

But obviously I meant Satoko and she's an angel of purity! Up to including possibly influencing Shoma to try clockwise spins.

I wonder, do you get any dizzier trying to do clockwise spins when you're a counter-clockwise spinner? Or does it just influence your speed and agility (and coordination) on them?

I wish people wouldn't put so much thought into what Shoma does at training on the stream. He's doing fun things, he's doing serious things, he's having races, he's spinning, he's doing the biellmann, he's skating around with tyres over his head, he's jumping the lutz, he's jumping the sal. Honestly, I wish they never shared the stream, considering all the ridiculous nonsense that has been sprouted. No other skater is being this scrutinized for his training videos! Now I know why most people just do it behind closed doors and are super secretive and careful about their layout.

There will be Friends on Ice this Friday until Sunday. Then there will be silence (hopefully)

I agree 100%. I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread entitled "Shoma To Skate New FS Holding a Tire Over His Head". With all the hours he spends on the ice, he has to do something lighthearted and fun once in awhile! And he does seem to enjoy lying on the ice when he falls. He's just goofing off!

FYI. finally Shoma's calendar'll be sold!! purchasable at Amazon.

Yes! This is a must-have item! I am already an Amazon Prime member, but they tell me I'll have to establish an Amazon Japan account. Looks like the cost is between $20-$25, but that doesn't include the shipping and (possibly?) customs fees. Seems a little pricey when I could probably have one custom-made here in the U.S. for cheaper. SO happy to see this though! :hap10:

ahh, Amazon will cost u extra shipment fee? is it expensive?! Amazon..
btw Arriba, how many kitkat left? lol
and yes, actually on this Thurs FOI reharsal starts.

Oh dear...I appreciate you sharing that.:palmf: Thank goodness I didn't mention the mighty thighs and the now-famous purple pants. :scard7: That cracks me up to see "Lou Malnati" on the screen along with the Japanese words. (Ah the power of suggestion -- yesterday I had to break down and buy a Lou's pizza!)...BTW Fedorov is a former ice dancer, can't remember if I mentioned that.

I think I missed that about Fedorov being a former ice dancer. anyway, i thought you should know if you didn’t - seemed a weird place to find an arriba reporting about a side of cattle with pizza! (cattle. my word, not their’s)
now i’m traveling, only home for a little while before there’s a lot more trips to come. which is just as well…i’m getting a little too nervous for this season. (btw i would have let you know if i saw アリバ/arriba on a video no matter where i was. we’ve all got to start talking about how we’re from all different cultures and we all still love and care about shosho, so they know in japan, if, someone decides to print it on their vid)

Before I go, your avatar! man how i love that face. had a gig in japan and lived there, and i never saw anyone like him. nor met anyone that was anything LIKE him. which was in all probability a good thing. coz I would’ve scared the daylights out of him (crazy-haired female with a huge american stride, following him!!) Yeah, i hope for silence (practice privacy) too. maybe it doesn’t matter so much, yet all the other guys seem to be aiming for training privacy…(i’ve seen short programs and then they’re taken down only HOURS later)

Kotaro's Twitter photos make me so happy because they show that even though the guys trained really hard, they also had a little bit of time for fun. I see that they are near my favorite movie theatre -- the Glen! It's one of the few area theatres that shows foreign films...In the one photo where Sho looks like he is saying "Whoaaaaa!", they are at the 110-floor Willis Tower in downtown Chicago, tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Used to be the tallest building in the world. Click on this link and then click on Skydeck and you can see the view they had. www.willistower.com/history-and-facts It's pretty spooky because you're surrounded by glass. It's called The Ledge, and you do feel like you're walking on a ledge!...Not sure where Kotaro had his photo holding the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup trophy. He looks like he really enjoyed himself here!
