Bolded by me. Yes it is a new avatar. My Michelle Kwan avatar that I have had for the entire time that I have been on GS (which is forever lol) disappeared a couple of weeks ago when the board was upgrading. I waited a few days to see if it came back, it did not. I then tried to reset my original avatar which is from the GS list without out success. I love this photo of Dai in his POTO costume from Mao's
The Ice and decided to make it my avatar. I love Dai but I miss the Kween's avatar. Change is good right.
 
Not quite sure what Shomita is doing here after the competition, and of course the translation makes no sense. He looks good though (as always!). Go home and take a quick rest, and then get ready for Skate Canada!

yeah he seemed so shocked and sad as he couldn't make it, but overall his performance's not bad at all. Just couldn't forget his sad face.. despite shoes prob he did his best.

btw Carnival on Ice's so good this year. tomorrow TV will show it.

sum up : he says he does 2 run throughs of his programs a day and then he can't move. Lowering the number of quads would make it easier to skate clean but that's not him, he wants to challenge and this season is not his goal.

Shoma also attended the press conference pre GP with all of team Japan (minus Yuzuru and Yuna)
He said his goal for the season was "to attack!!!" same as last year but with exclamation mark to make it a bit different. He said this season is a checkpoint for him

He's going to have a bad skate eventually so better now than later. And if he can use this as a way to better himself then all the better. :agree: And there was still a lot of good in it e.g. the end spin. When his spins are really centered I instantly think of Arriba's story about Alex making him do the spins again :). But I gotta admit it was pretty rough seeing him after the skate in the K&C. He looked so tired. :( Sleep and beef for Shoma! And hugs! :ghug: That hug with Javi.... :luv17:

I'm not that excited about the team event either. I don't understand why it is before the singles competitions? It's great to cheer with a team and all but I think all of them would rather want an individual medal. It is a singles sport after all. They should all get a chance to fight for it without risk of injuring themselves for a event that is held because it's fun. Sorry for the rant :) :curse:

He is so used to being (over)prepared for competitions. If he is saying he wasn't prepared, that must have made him super nervous. And get those boots broken in!!!!...This blue suit he is wearing in the GP preview is one of my favorites -- so classy and a great (princely) blue.

I think you forgot to answer my question of my last PM, but I can also ask it here. Can you go to practice at Skate Canada? Is it open to the public?

About Carnival on Ice, when exactly did that happen? And what exhibition did Shoma skate? :shocked:

it happened just after Japan Open, the same day. He skated to "see you again" and some people said that the kinda hiphop part was improved.

Thank you! I wonder if he's going to have a new exhibition. I'm greedy, I want something new for the Olympic Season (although I could watch This Town forever)

i am greedy too! this town is amazing but i want to see more programs from Shoma! tbh i really really want him to skate to Kimi no na wa and since he is so obsessed with it, i really don't get why it hasn't happen yet! Mihoko pretty please do your thing

I think I did space out on that. Yes, SC practices are open to people who have all-event and (probably) any ticket, as far as I know. I know I have a practice pass for all practices. Thursday the 26th is a LOOOONG day of practice, with practice for all disciplines. I'm pretty sure the mornings of Friday and Sat. are practices for a couple (or is it all???) disciplines. Short program competitions are all Fri. and long are Sat.

The motto at practices is always have your camera ready! You never know whom you'll run into! In the lobby I bumped into Oda (and talked to him) and saw Nathan just sitting there! I can't remember who, but last year prior to the men's practice at SA, someone saw Sho jogging around the stadium lobby (warming up) while waiting for his turn to practice.

I'm just hoping Shomajesty doesn't pull his usual practice trick where he has Fluffy stand in the end area so he can stand with his back to all the spectators. Grrrr! Makes it tough to get good pictures of him, especially with a crummy camera like mine! It will be fun though. I'm looking forward to it.
