This is a weird sport where people claim to love it as a sport but fail to acknowledge the sporty side of it. Talking about technique is a must in a sport. But because it relates to music so everything sporty will be ignored as long as it justifies the love.
Calling for some better technical judgment is called as hate.
As a fan of Medvedeva, I never cringe before the complaints about her Flutz. Because she is a true Flutzer.
But I guess people are more narrow minded than me, thinking that calling out bad technique is hating.

Thank you for coming to Shoma's FF to share your wisdom.

You know, same old, same old. If you want to read my rants, I can send you a PM, too. (Not that I haven't already done that before....hehe, you know me, demarinis!)

I was just being silly, it is Friday afternoon, end of work week, heading home to relax. :yahoo:

Oh nooooo, I just sent you a rant! Not the idea of a relaxing weekend I guess....:curse: Quick, think of something nice! Dai making coffee or Shoma's cantilever-face! :o:

And why exactly do you have to come to Shoma's Fan Fest to tell us this? You have the entire forum to talk about him and his technique, and most likely you have already done that. And I seem to recall seeing a rule somewhere that really made sense: Acceptable criticism may become non-constructive if it becomes excessively repetitive.

LOL i am so glad to see that your self appointed tumblr expert open minded critique has made it to shoma fanfest. your passive aggressive tone is so lovely as well. :luv17:

:rolleye: Ok. Bye.

The way I see it, anyone who concerns themselves with viewing and especially commenting in Shoma's fanfest is actually a fan, whether they know it or not. Otherwise, why bother? Time is precious you know, so we choose to spend it wisely. ;)

Skate Canada is in two weeks! Enjoy, Arriba! Here's another cat comparison for you.

Fortunately I am perfectly capable of loving Yuzuru, Shoma and Medvedeva. (And quite a few more, but the two gentlemen more than everybody else). Actually, I really really really like the two gentlemen. :luv17: But yes, sometimes tumblr just makes me wonder why any fan of any skater would feel the need to spend so much time *not* on him/her.
But then, I never understood that in 20+ years of on-line fandoms. (It’s the same everywhere, of course, not just sports, but also TV, movies, books fandoms etc.). I am probably not going to learn anymore. And I’m probably a happier person for it.

At a time when figure skating needs all the fans it can get, what a sad thing that people just can't keep from attacking skaters and fans of skaters that they perceive to be a threat. Some of this stuff is the most toxic, condescending garbage I've ever seen. Several of the accounts I was looking at recently were written by people who were not only haters but who are proud of the fact that they're haters. Sorry for the mini rant. I try so hard to focus on the positive things most of the time! :palmf:

Yeah, I'm dealing with haters, and with proud haters, all the time... Just ignoring some (particularly the proud ones) and speaking rationally to others helps though -- the amount of garbage on the website where I'm currently running my Shomablog has reduced drastically in the last few months, while the number of Shoma fans has increased at the same time. :hap10:
I guess, there will be an exponential growth in the number of his fans when he starts winning competitions.
So, I'm not too worried about haters now.

It's the GP series 2017 which will be shown on tv asahi. The board Shoma's holding simply says "6 Days until the Start" in red.

This is what's written on tv asahi's facebook:

【Terebi Asahi Figure Skate】
Konnichiwa. Six days until the opening event of the Grand Prix Series! Today's Countdown is brought to you by Uno Shoma-senshu! Uno-senshu will participate in the 2nd event in Canada and the fifth in France!
【Grand Prix Series Opening Competition Russia Cup】
Next week, 20th (Friday) from 8 o'clock, 2 nights in a row will be broadcast!!

They sure love their exclamation marks. No wonder Shoma uses them as well!

Still I ask myself why the green curtain in the back, hehe. Anyway I got a question for the japanese members. Why does Terebi Asahi have the rights to the GP? Shouldn't that be, well, NHK? Don't they pay for NHK trophy?

Thank you :thank: for your words of wisdom Hronop. I wish I could read your blog, but if I remember right it's in Russian. Nice to hear that Shoma has more fans!

Has this photo of Shoma been posted here before? It was taken by Sunao Noto -- a Japanese photographer. There are other great photos in the same gallery (with Yuzu, Satoko, Dai, Karo, Anna [Pogorilaya] and others)... Great photos, methinks. :luv17:

Ah, my favourite time the real season is almost here.... looking forward to Yuzu in Russia and then Shoma at SC... can Shoma do what Yuzu has not and beat Patrick at home? Who knows, it's early days and I can hardly wait to see the guys on the gp circus, er, circuit!!!

*LOL*

He's getting better at talking freely, have you noticed? :yes2:

Yes! And talking not quite as fast as Nobu, but not as many head tilts (darn!) and pauses. And the new face is looking mighty fine! Love at 1:57 where they have to be asking him about the Uncle Dai head roll!

I am really interested what they are saying about the head roll and those hand movements from the 2nd part of Turandot... Can anyone translate this into English please?..
