I love Shoma. Winter is coming, thank you very much. He is a wonder, the most amazing wonder. Good night!

Better put than I ever could.

I wanted to watch live during the night, but with important social engagements today, I just couldn't risk a migraine, so... :-(
But it was nice, too, because it helped me watch Shoma's skate while rather relaxed. I just told myself, it's okay, it's not live, he's already done this, and then I just saw PURE BLISS in front of my eyes.

Can I just say: his program is the Most Sublime Thing Ever, and the costume... It reminds me of Yuzu's Swan costume, but in a gorgeous blue/grey shade and with even more sparkles and feathers (? <--- it reminded me of snowflakes), and I'm such a complete sucker for that kind of thing. It's sooo pretty. HE is gorgeous, and I've had tears in my eyes since watching the SP, and I'm still crying.

It is such a terrible feeling to adore two skaters at the same time, because there just aren't any ties in figure skating. I so desperately want to see Yuzu and Shoma both get the Olympics Gold. I went through this with Yuna and Mao, and hoped to never go through it again. Alas... But until they face each other at the GPF and Nationals, I'm good. :thumbsup:

Guys -- I sat by 2 ladies who are skating judges. I asked what they thought of Shomita's program. They said no under- or pre-rotation. Last spin was phenomenal. Other spin very good but not as good. They loved the way he uses/moves his whole body. I said I thought he slows down too much at one point in the step sequence. They agreed but said as the season goes on he'll probably correct that...And best of all, the black pants look so much better!!! (Ha-- maybe he reads GS?!)

From the screen it looked kind of empty. You could hear Shoma and Fluffy talk after the skate...I wonder what they said. His voice...he's so precious.

Just finished watching Shoma's short, beautiful as always, but I do have one tiny gripe (it's funny, because it's literally one tiny flaw, but because the program would be so perfect otherwise, it just draws focus for me) - I'd like him to stop locking his elbows when he extends his arms. It gives a weird line - )( rather than () if that makes sense.

Otherwise? I'm beginning to think of Sho as a lock for OGM.

I think this was my favourite version of Winter so far. It seemed sharper than at Lombardia, the choreography more focused.

And Fluffy & Shoma....these two! I don't want to see them part. Did you see how Fluffy massaged Sho's hands before the skate? I love to watch that. And her nails! Always stylish, our Fluffy!

I think his short yesterday was a strong showing but I still feel like the choreo for this program feels a little.... empty compared to last year? Like there's a lot of places where the music goes strong where he just strokes around. The parts that move more look phenomenal and I definitely think this was better than Lombardia, but I don't know, I find myself missing last season's programs. Either way, good luck in the free today Shoma!

Ladies in Lavender wasn't as good at the beginning of last season as at the end, either. I think come the Olympics this will be the best short program of all the men. Me personally, I also like Patrick Chan's, but Shoma wins the SP this season!

I suppose I was spoiled last season -- I took to watching skating seriously around the end of the GP series last year so I got started on a lot of skaters further into their development (Shoma was an instant favorite for me, the first time I saw "Loco" I was sold). I have full faith that this program will develop if that's the case, so I'll look forward to an even more expressive "Winter" next time around!

I just looked at the starting order for today's FS and Shoma will be skating 4th in the second group.
I think that is a good draw for him. I am glad he is not skating last, less time for him to get nervous.

I think I said the same a few weeks ago, but with those matching costumes, they're practically asking for it. Petition for a Turandot collaboration for Shoma and Marin!!

Anyway, I finally got to watch his SP in Skate Canada!! So happy for him! Aside from the 3T becoming a 2T, he skated so well! I loved the little changes to the program, although I do agree that the middle could be improved with more steps to the music, but I know this is only going to get better throughout the season.
