I'm thinking too if 4CC might be good for him. He's probably returning to Chicago (I'm jealous, Arriba!), but from now to mid-february, it's a long time between competitions. I wonder if he'll ask for 4CC. Isn't it assigned by the JSF?

Yes it is would probably would be good for him but there is a reason in the Olympic season that the Olympic medal contenders
forego 4CC and that is to avoid any possibility of an an injury so close to the big game. If I was on Shoma's team I would not let him go.

A perfect short is wonderful, but in my mind I can still hear Uncle Kurt saying, "Short program -- just get it done!" And that's exactly what the Prince did. He put himself in a good position. I like the new costume, although I think maybe I prefer the gray one just a little bit better.

Regarding Chicago training, still can't figure out when Shomajesty will come to Chicago. Last year he finished Nats Christmas Day and was in Chicago on the 27th I think. This year's schedule is weird, cos our Nats which are normally mid to late January are SUPER early this year because of the Olympics. I believe Alex has Novice and Jr. skaters he will accompany to Nats, so that means he will have to be there from at least Dec. 27 + a few days. It would be pretty rough for the Prince to go to 4CC, given that schedule. We'll see what happens. I hope he still plans to come here.

At least Shoma's condition isn't bad but he just got nervous.

I watched Sho's Skate Canada Winter again today, and I have to believe he already had the beginnings of illness at that point. He was profusely sweaty as someone already mentioned then, and he looked totally exhausted. His condition (and conditioning) seems so much better now. And our friend Mr. Amano didn't feed the rabbits with Sho's marks. Hooray!

Goodness Sho got hammered on that 4T. He probably would have gotten more points if he fully rotated and fell.
Glad he got level 4 in his step. He has talked about his step and that he is constantly working hard to get level 4.

I wonder who Judge 8 is. He gave Sho all 8.50-8.75 in the component scores.

Everything else is good!

Was able to sneak a private moment to watch. You know, considering the weird season so far, this is a great opportunity to learn at this comp. I know I know, the combo… But he learned to be stable when nervous, right? And I think that meant a lot to him, and it should!! Now he’ll focus on thinking through combos. It’s not his strength, and as always, he’ll get a rein on that issue…a way for him to approach it. Costume is reminiscent of the one he wore in the summer. I think it’s to show his upper body movements, expressiveness, more. ?? these are all my immediate reactions.
I see Shoma confronting this season’s hurdles which are different from last season’s hurdles, and I love him for it!

You are probably right! But I (as a lay person’s opinion! for what it’s not worth!), if he feels he would want to go to 4cc, I’d risk it. I feel he knows inside what he needs.

yes… this will start happening more I believe in protocols This is all feedback for Shoma. I haven't looked at who the judges are, but I'd heard "Mr Amano" was there...

He may feel he wants to go but it is not really up to him and it would be a team decision. That said I would not be surprised if he does 4CC.

Yup I was thinking of "Mr. Amano" too. He is known to be a little harsh.

And keep the rest of the costume transparent as well, so you can show off your skin! :)

Shoma's beautiful, there is no denying it.

Armpit hair.... :)

Agree about his beauty! I don't know about the skin showing we don't want Shoma getting any deductions for sexy costume:laugh2:l

Shoma doesn't seem to have problems with sweat stains in his costumes as many other skaters have. I wonder why?

Powerful antiperspirant will take care of sweat stains but the real reason is that he is the Shomajesty of Figure Skating and he is Special!;)

@MaiKatze I don't know how my response to your second quote ended up in your quote.

Maybe the fabric dries quickly when it absorb sweat, or it does not change colour when it absorbs sweat. Like Nathan's costume always show a sweat stain i just:hopelessness: Or he just doesn't have sweaty armpits

He absolutely is. His skin looks (and probably actually is) so smooth except his face because it is cracking. Sorry I know I sound like a pervert but I am just stating facts :)

actually Mr Amano was not a judge but the tech specialist. so that should shut the people who yell Shoma URs up (it won't). That he managed to get all level 4s on spins and footwork with mr Amano is also telling.

Actually i really enjoyed his winter. Loved the new costume and i thought he really skated beautifully. the no combo is annoying though but considering how nervous and downright scared he looked in warm-up and before the program i was quite happy with what he did.

for the sweat stains I always thought he doesn't sweat that much tbh. He sweats from his face/ hair but he doesn't seem to sweat too much in general

I’m not very good at these replies…
I don’t mean my replies matters much, but you understood my first reply correctly, I meant the “hammered” part. (for the 4T)
But I agree that even if it won’t shut up the broken record (UR etc) people, it proves what he earns is worthy.
I enjoyed the winter too and want a chance to watch it again in the next few hrs.

He is special in every way! Jesting aside, some people do leave stains even outside of skating. And some don’t? (something in the sweat) Lucky.
Whatever the reason, he is, as I said before always simply irresistible, yes!
