I cheered extra hard for Shoma for everyone here, and of course for myself! Also had to laugh at all the food plushies that got thrown on the ice!

THANK YOU FOR CHEERING FOR US, LATREMO!!!

OT: (the vege ones are a blast, I'd like one just for the novelty!)

Really enjoyed hearing Charlie White's comments on the Olympic Channel:

Dynamic use of the music on the last spin. I am so impressed with a skater at such a young age – the maturity he shows, the confidence, the precision, the musicality, every movement is completely under control. It just creates an aura of power and expertise. He is so young to be able to bring that to figure skating in preparation for the Olympics. Again, I can’t say how impressive it is.

The quad flip – he can often times swing his upper body and it comes around to get him on the landing of the jumps. You can see his left elbow coming around, as he’s landing. So he has to put on the brakes a little to manage it – but he manages it very well. He Is so strong.

Wonderful use of intricate steps. Here we see a set up into the 4T – 2T, planned to be a 3T. He probably could have done the 3T but he was playing it a little bit safe.

The 3A – so easy and the spread eagle in and out so impressive. The quality of this program and the choreo is so well thought out. There is a reason why he is going to get the monster score he’ll get. Everything that he needs to compete (here and at the Olympics) is there for him.
[emoji1] [emoji8] I love Charlie White! Good assessment. Thanks for sharing, Arriba!

You're welcome, biryanione! It was absolutely my pleasure!

Wah, I didn't get to see the Dino plushies! I was seated behind the scoreboard (a mistake never to be repeated again) and couldn't see the scores or what was happening at the K&C! Also, when the audience would see the scores and cheer loudly, I didn't hear them, so I had to look it up (I didn't know Shoma's score until it came up on the delayed "livestream", because the audience cheered so loudly when it came up on the scoreboard- at least I knew he was first, based on the cheers). Fortunately, I'll be on the other side during the FS.

Since the arena doesn't seem too full, would anyone mind if you just move to a better seat?

Didn't realize they've had the draw already for the free skate. Sho is 3rd from the last. So it goes Sho, Keiji, and then Jin.

Wow. I hope Shoma hears this.

...wish he were last. GOOD LUCK SHOMA IN THE FREE.
(edit, maybe it's not a bad thing, not to have to be last!!!)

I did, but just moved closer. There were staff members at the aisles between rows of seats, I felt it would have been a long shot to go to a completely different colored area (although I really really wanted to) . Next time, note to self - blue: No! AVOID COMPLETELY! Don't even go there!

But anyway, I still really enjoyed it all.

Edited - daphenaxa, the crowd was really great (and I'm not just saying that because I was a member, lol). Very positive and supportive to all the skaters. Very reactive to everything that was happening (Nam picking up the misthrown plushie to give to Han Yan, gasps of amazement for any audience member able to successfully throw a plushie across the wide gaping moat, etc).

Take me with you, I'll throw something too! [emoji3]
Ooh, let's go, Hronop! I'll have to work on my arm and shoulder muscle strength before then. [emoji16] Otherwise I might need your help, haha. Hmm, maybe a dead banana emotucon plushie? Do those even exist? (Not an actual dead/rotten banana, because that would be eww.)

does someone have a link to the olympic channel version?? i would like to hear Charlie's very nice words but i only find with no commentary on youtube :noshake:

Whoever the camera people were, they deserve my appreciation! The ending was like a young prince seeking for his lost love in an anime. I replayed the portion like 50 times already. :)

Shoma actually tried to catch as many gifts as he could 😊

Also I am in for throwing something for Shoma at Worlds!

Although I like the chicken leg pillow https://youtu.be/1gy40R5Ejdk?t=280 I think I'd have a hard time getting it in my suitcase. My game plan is to wait until after Valentine's Day. At that point, the stores usually have a lot of cool little bears and stuff with little hearts for 50% off! No expense spared for this Prince! I also like the clock that has the big steak on it, but that might be too heavy. The possibilities are endless! :yahoo: (poor Shoma if he actually lugs all this stuff home). I remember the last competition Marin went to, they said her suitcase broke on the way home cos she had so many Pikachus in it! Ha! Ha!

I just wanted to share this!:)

March 3 is Japanese traditional festival day for girls. We exhibit traditional dolls at home, etc. wishing the health and growth of girls.
Doll maker company appointed Shoma and Nao Kodaira (speed skate) as the expected athletes at Olympics and created the dolls of them.
They crafted the high grade gold thread embroidery. The doll is so elaborate and Shoma is so handsome and noble, worth watching!

hamaguri, long time no see! Hope you're well. Thank you for sharing, but I cannot hide I'm freaked out by the Angela Merkel Doll. Eh....:scard7::scard8:

No offense meant, but why do they keep making creepy-looking Shoma dolls/figures? It's better than the Asahi one last year, but still... Maybe I just find dolls creepy in general.
