Hello everyone. After a year and almost 2 months of lurking, I've finally decided to de-lurk myself here lol. I've been a Shoma fan since his last last national championships, and since then I've fallen in love with Sho and his skating skills I also wanna point out that Sho really has good fans because I've always felt the bond in this FF (even if by being a silent reader). Anyway, let's all look forward to the Olympics and be dead bananas together!

Welcome ShootingStar!You're joining us at a great time! It's going to be very exciting cheering on the Prince for the Olympics. For me, the bond comes from supporting someone whose skating does the talking and who is beautiful on the inside and outside. Shoma is so special! Sho showed us at 4CC that he is in good condition. Now we all need to do a big group hug for his nerves!

You know, I had some “waiting” time very early this morning and I suddenly watched that This Town again, as well as the smiling moment. I thought, what does that remind me of?? You know he has a “big” little brother, yes? Well I have seen brothers smirk like this, and I thought maybe he’s thinking “Woa, Istuki’s never gonna let me live this down”
i was imagining something like this: Itsuki: Shoma-kun? Whose that? Oh you mean KAKKOII-KUN!”
Shoma: “Shut-up. Itsuki can be very annoying”

(I am afraid I had fun letting my imagination get away with me.)

I think he'd enjoy that too much. "Kakkoii- kun?" "Yep, that's me!" He'd totally claim that. I don't think Itsuki will use the compliment as a way to tease him (it's not satisfying in a teasing sibling way.) Siblings tend to tease about annoying/embarrassing things, Shoma would gain too much satisfaction from being called "kakkoii" for Itsuki to do it.

Siblings tend to tease about annoying/embarrassing things

Oh you are currently living the sibling experience so I will leave it up to you! My own boys would have found this a way to embarrass each other, but generations seem to change as well, and I can’t even remember that “dynamic”, as they say, with my own siblings.

But I am glad we speak of light subjects during this time we all stare at a closed curtain moments before it rises! Closed for everyone! This year, as always maybe, there are brave comebacks, but I want to watch the final curtain call of some too whether they medal or not. I will miss them. I am hoping I can catch pairs, but while I can definitely catch men’s just before i have to leave, i’ll practically be on a plane, I may miss the women. I hadn’t been following the women closely last year but this year I became interested again and am worried it is impossible to watch it. I will figure it out! :agree2:

Yes, that did seem a bit strange, and I wondered how (and why!) the secret would be kept about a book coming out. I went to my Amazon Japan account and tried to pull it up by title or author and couldn't. Darn. Maybe the keyboard warriors were behind it.

Speaking of insults to the very dignified Shoma. when the camera was on him as they were announcing Jin Boyang scores. Brown was waving his hands inf front of Shoma's face, still trying to hog the camera. Did he have any clue how aggressive and obnoxious that was especially to Japanese who are all about respect and understatement? Maybe I'm the only one that noticed and I found it incredibly offensive. I adore Shoma and he deserves respect.

Hello, Basho! I didn't really see Jason on the screen when they were announcing Jin's scores. Perhaps you were talking about when Keiji's scores came out? It looked more like Jason's way of "featuring" or calling attention to Shoma rather than to himself. It might even be their way of cheering Keiji up. I didn't really think it was rude, and from the laughter in the arena, I don't think anyone else did either. Jason's just a happy guy, and he and Shoma get along really well.

Plus, Shoma isn't really all that dignified when he's off ice, hehe. He's chill and cheerful until he gets on the ice and performs. I don't think he minded Jason's fun shenanigans.

I didn't see anything of the sort. They were having fun after Keiji's skate, and Keiji and Sho have a special relationship, as do Jason and Shoma. Jason brings out the fun side of Shoma. But back to Shoma....I can't wait to see him perform at the Oly, and to be honest, I'm very excited to see what he has in store for next season. He's been using the same choreographer for his entire career (except for his Exhib routines). No disrespect to Mrs. Higuchi, but would love to see what others could pull out him.
