I think we're in the same time zone, nolangoh and iorii. If I didn't have the unholy habit of waking up at 5 or 6 am even in the weekends, I would have missed it. Even then, it caught me by surprise. The audience too- lots of empty seats until the Zamboni break (I watched sporadically afterwards, so I can't tell if they filled up). They made up for it with loud cheers though.

I was supposed to wake up at 7.30 but I slept through my alarm. I'm never a morning person

I was watching the Closing ceremony on Japanese TV tonight, but I don't think I saw Shoma among the attending athletes. Anyone noticed him there? Maybe he was with his family in the stands among the crowds... or he was too tired and decided to skip it...

No that’s from today, and the closing ceremony was yesterday. But considering how easily sleepy Shoma can get (the gala was very early, after all), I’d not be surprised if he had decided to skip it. I only saw Yuzu in the crowd.

That official in front of Shoma had to bend his knees because u couldn't see Shoma in the pictures. Everybody laughed. Why did they put Sho and Ayumu and Sara and the whole curling team behind is the real question since they are all so small lol. Ayumu and Sho could be friends, they both looked so done with press event.

I just realized if you ever watch Reply 1988 (a k-drama), Shoma is just like Taek? Very good at games and sport (taek plays baduk which is like chess) but have no clue about other things in life and is very adorkable!

Hi everyone! I'm a new fan of Shoma's since I watched him at the Olympics this year and was just completely captivated! I started watching the mens skating event feeling mostly excited for Yuzuru since I remembered him from Sochi, but even though he (and of course the other skaters as well!) were lovely it was Shoma who left the most impression for me. How is it that he is so cute and precious with his sweet puppy dog eyes, yet on the ice he has this intense power just amazing! needless to say I was pretty thrilled that he won the silver medal, and ever since than I've just been obsessively watching his programs, reading through this thread and finding out more about him...spending so much admiring his handsome face that I probably should feel embarrassed about it : especially the way he looks in the Turandot costume, oh my goodness what a prince! :luv17: Discovering him has made me so excited to keep up with this sport and watch more of his beautiful skating!
