I think you need another suitcase. [emoji13]
I have that nice antsy feeling in my gut waiting for Worlds, I know Shoma will do wonderfully so I can't wait to see him!

Since I've only been here since the Olympics, can someone tell me what press coverage is like for Worlds? Will we be getting plenty of pictures and interviews after his programs to know how he feels about his performance, etc? I hope so, I'm missing him too much to not get some good quotes from him [emoji106]
There are still interviews by Japanese media after practice and for sure after every performance (sometimes also by other media- CBC, US, but generally selected. CBC only interviews those who can speak English.) There's a press conference for the medalists a bit later after each event.

There may be a few interviews on TV or with other hosts (usually there's one with Matsuoka), but nowhere near the number there was during the Olympics. There's usually plenty of pictures regardless, both fantaken and from the media and professional photographers. So still plenty of content. [emoji4] Just a lot less to overwhelm Shoma.

Music rotation for Worlds practices are out and Shoma (and the rest of the Japanese men) are in Group 4, alongside the Russian guys and Majorov.
Here's the schedule from the 19th to the 21st.

I don´t understand Japanese so don´t know what is said there and how Shoma has been doing after the Olys but it looks like he has been doing fine. He has surely concentrated on practicing and is well prepared as always. Despite the long season I hope and believe he still feels fresh and pulls relaxed and clean performances there.

ARRIBA, enjoy in Milan! I was hoping to get there too till the last moment but the truth is that I can´t make it.

SHOMA, best of luck to the last competition of the season!!!

First of all, hello everyone here. was attracted by Shoma's totally "my pace" style answer in interviews after Winter Olympics and am I newbie (noob tbh) regarding figure skating, anyway, yoroshiku!

Regarding the video in post 7851, I tried to translate part of it with my crap English, the last part was really "shoma style" lol

- as for olympic medal:
Shoma: "once I got it I don't want to see it" (unspoken phase: "I am looking forward to what are coming")

- review of his performance in Olympics
Shoma: "The quality of jump of hanyu senshu was far better than mine. For me, I just work hard to land safe on jumps..."
(then the programme showed the difference in GOE between Uno and Hanyu)

- topic (area of improvement) Shoma found out: quality of jump
Shoma: "consciousness" is important to improve the quality of jump

- at last, Shoma was asked if he got a dragon ball* that can realize him a wish immediately, what does he want?
Shoma: "Umm...I don't think...That is really necessary for myself. I am afraid I won't feel happy if my wish just be realized after a flash. Do sport is happy because you got (the result/ achievement) after hard work." "Well...if I really need to answer to this question..probably...more time...cox I can spend more time in game (smile)"

*Dragon ball is a Japanese anime..it said that if people gathered 7 dragon balls, then they can summon a dragon that can realize their wish...sth like that.

Welcome, gacchan!! Thanks for delurking to join us here, and thank you also for the translations! [emoji16] I think we all would have taken advantage of the dragonballs and the wish. Shoma is quite unique. [emoji4] love the reporter for asking about it in that way!

Hellooooo to Shomafest and thank you for translation! It reminds me an interview Shoma did when he was a bit younger and he said kinda the same, that sport is fun for him because he has to work for the results. here it is https://twitter.com/ciel_maomao/status/975492150505873409

Also that time when he wished for "time, height and Doraemon's pocket". He is funny :luv17:

I knew it would be really rough to get to practice early, so I only arrived when Sho had about 10-15 mins. left on the ice. Didn't see his run-through, but I guess you all already heard he marked his jumps. Outside of the run through, he did some really nice 4Ts that had a rolling 3 entry, a 4T-3T, and he worked on his 4F. Only he and Keiji were on the ice -- Kazuki arrives today. No sign of Dmitri, Mikhail, or Majorov.

He was looking mighty fine today! That black shirt with the Vincero red letters looks great. Lots of hair fluffing today too. And the trick is to sit behind Fluffy, since she never stands on the sides, only on the end. Sho was at Fluffy's Bar quite a bit when I was there. A lady who was there very early told me he looked tired when he arrived. :jaw: No way! :laugh2: Maybe he woke up fast, cos he looked pretty energetic when I saw him. As always, happy demeanor! He is a joy to watch.

Thanks Arriba for you report on Shomajesty! Lucky for you that Sho frequented Fluffly's bar. ;) I agree he is looking good! Were there a lot of folks at the practice?

I was there from about 7:50 am to 1 pm so saw some men's and most of the ice dance. There weren't that many people there. At one point I guesstimated about 100 people.
