I got onto the metro and after we had gone two stops realized I didn't have my ticket for the ladies event. :gaah: :furious: :sad4: Had to take a train back and run back to the hotel for my ticket. Hoho, yes she did. I was watching from the other side... ([emoji33] stalker!) Arriba went down to the rinkside and dropped the bag and dinosaur ever so casually onto the ice. [emoji16] The flower girl that picked it up dropped it and I thought the valuable goods inside might spill out. [emoji28] They didn't, thankfully. [emoji6]

I agree with you.

It's Shoma. He didn't get this far by playing it safe. He's an adult now. Let him do what he thinks he should. He played it safe and it didn't go well, might as well try his best with his original layout. He will fight, and he will fight hard, and whatever the result will be, I'll be very proud of him. That's the beauty of sports, isn't it? We don't just admire the winners, we admire and greatly respect the fighters and hard workers. So let him fight and be satisfied with his performance, no matter his placement. He can tell himself, "I didn't give up." That will be more important than winning.

I agree with both of you. Shoma knows what he wants and he knows what he should do to get it. IMO he actually has a rational plan, play it safe first then proceed from the results of that. He said he wanted to be a skater admired by people, he said he wanted to went out every competition having achieved his goals, and if those required taking risks then so be it. And personally I greatlt respect him for throwing it down for Japan’s 3 spots. Being an Asian myself, I can really relate with him on this matter.

Woke up 10 minutes ago, turned on a stream, immediately saw Shoma fall and then smile super cutely. I see a heart attack in my near future but he's got this! Just please be okay and don't get hurt!

Yes, Shoma left practice early on Wed due to pain in right dorsum of foot. He had it x-ray and evaluated at local hospital. X-rays were negative for fracture. It probably was caused by adjusting to new skating boots that he switched to just after Olympics since his others were breaking down. They are treating pain with elevation, ice, and painkillers. He talked to Japanese media about possible WD and said that he wanted to compete, not let down his team...

Ah, ok. Hope he recovers soon. Gambatte, Shoma!

what a roller-coaster that whole last group in the free skate was :shocked: after Shoma's program I was just feeling pride in him for fighting until the end, and happiness that him and Kazuki would be able to keep the 3 spots for the Japanese men. Definitely was not expecting silver medalist Shoma Uno at that point, but with the way things turned out he earned it! Shoma placed gold or silver in every competition this year...obviously it's a year away now, but I'm thinking gold in his home country looks pretty good right now :agree2: but of course for now he just needs to rest up...play lots of video games and enjoy sleeping lol

Congrats, Shoma!! That was such a gutwrenching 4.30mins but it's over, you survived, you kept the spots and you won a silver medal. J.H.C., what a day.

I hope he skips some of the shows he is supposed to be doing next.
