Shoma Uno: 2014-2024

I would argue that especially for these kids, a factory for figure skating boots is more interesting than for the average kid from the neighbourhood who doesn't care.

We went to Gerolsteiner (mineral water firm) in elementary school. It was pretty cool, they had all sorts of lemonades/sodas to try that weren't officially being sold. But then we had to write a report about the visit, which slightly dampened the fun!

I think it was Jason who posted a video last year showing some stuff about his boots when he went to Toronto to be fitted. It was really interesting how they heated them and did other things to them to break them in (ugh -- don't mention that!). Whether a bunch of squirrely kids would think it's interesting -- hard to say. I was trying to see if mom was in any of those photos. That little smile Sho has in most of the photos looks like he has a secret he's not telling! :agree2:

I've only ever seen this angle of that moment, never his face. Probably looks like some of his expressions during interviews. [emoji16]

It's more likely he's with David Wilson, but I'm voting Sam Chouinard for the SP. I love the uniqueness of each -- Legends, Lavender, and Loco -- but I want him to go back to something more in the style of Legends. So Sam would be best for that. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves. Should be exciting. I'm assuming he'll be debuting a show version of his programs during the ice shows like he's done the last couple years.

ETA -- Whatever it is, I'm sure he'll commit to it 100%, so it will be exciting to see something new.

Well at the very least that means he could be working with them now so we don't have long to wait! Though I love when he is unique so I do hope at least one program is outside the box. I'm sure I'll like whatever they cook up though. He hasn't had a program that I don't like so I trust his team.

The possibilities are endless, and of course, it's all just guessing! But it's fun to speculate! He looked like he really was enjoying working with Sam when we saw him last summer in those video clips, so who knows? But I think he was seen in the Toronto area, so that makes me think more David Wilson. Maybe we'll learn something soon (hopefully). Or maybe it was his body double and he wasn't in Canada at all! Maybe he was just at his yakiniku restaurant with Itsuki, like always!

ETA -- Of course this is all just speculation (for fun) that he's out of the country. We know he and his team are experts at the total silence routine, whether he's in Japan or elsewhere. I'm sure it will all come out eventually.

My guess is that Shoma is doing his three favorite things sleeping, gaming and keeping a low profile.
He will be doing lots of shows soon so our questions will be answered but not sooner enough.

We've seen him play baseball, golf, hockey, yoyo, table tennis, darts, and billiards. He's apparently played football (haven't seen it). Now we'll see him play basketball! [emoji3] really looking forward to it.

Shoma has been added to the cast of Heroes & Future 2018 in Nagano. He'll be appearing on June 8-10.
