I completely agree with this, I really doubt Shoma would be happy if he knew that his costume or program was upsetting and or offending people. Honestly, cultural appropriation is such a western concept, I think it’s really unlikely that Shoma will change it unless someone tells him or his team about it. That said, if enough people do bring it up soon, there’s plenty of time to make changes.

I agree.

Somehow Shoma has turned me into...
- Figure Skating fan
- Team Japan fan

And now...
- Rook’s fan [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

I don't think anyone here is that surprised. Jealous, maybe, but not surprised. [emoji1]
- in response to a lady being the Rook mascot

Sorry for the late reaction.
Honestly I don't think Shoma or his team would want to offend anyone with concepts.
Figure skating for me is sport and art together. Its a personnal expression for all to accept or decline, but either way its fine.

Shoma has been added to the cast of The Ice. The show will take place July 28-29 in Osaka and August 4-5 in Aichi. (source)
Boyang and Nathan will be there too, it will be a sQuad show  how awesome would it be if the three of them did a number together ??

well it looks like Shoma won't be coming to Chicago and Canada in August with shows in early August for the Ice and late August for Friends on Ice. maybe late June and early July

He said he would spend 3 weeks there, so he will probably go between June 10th (Heroes and Future) and July 28th (The Ice) ?

Where does Shomita have more ice shows ? in Japan or overseas?
I wanna know what are my chances of seeing him :luv17:

In Japan only. Sadness. But then he's at a prime spot already, he doesnt really need to go anywhere else.

I agree with you completely. It's incredibly disrespectful for western nations to inflict their norms and standards onto people from other cultures. Let's just be respectful of other regions of the worlds and their way of life. However, I do hope that Shoma changes his costume just so people won't have yet another unfair reason to criticize him :slink:.
