Yeah you can only get his commentary with the 4K broadcast. I wish he commentated all the time, he was great!
I remember when he did 4cc broadcast, I preferred his commentary

I always enjoyed Charlies's detail commentary over Tara and Johnny. He is a fair commentator. He compliments skaters good points
but is not afraid to point things out that a skater could do or try to do when a mistake is made or an element is shaky.
LOL at seeing yourself in the broadcast. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah he is really good. And while watching the ladies he revealed that he used to skate in singles and had his triples all the way up to the 3A. I had NO clue! But it explains really well why he is so good at explaining jumps and technical aspects. Usually ice dance commentators are a bit fluffier on that. He probably would have been awesome competitor in pairs too, but I guess he just really loved ice dancing in the end.
that is interesting. I remember during 4 cc that he said that he was impressed with those who could excel at doing a spread eagle because he could never do it very well.

Yesterday, I translated my older birthday post that I had written in December 2017: '20 shades of Shoma Uno'. No analysis there, just a light and humorous list of 20 facts (well, and not only facts) about Shoma Uno. I had to incorporate the English translation into the main text (in italics), otherwise the post would be too long and heavy. I hope you enjoy it.

Who doubted that ever? It's obvious that Shoma puts the team first. Risking his own health like this. There were a few commentators saing "He should have withdrawn, what is this?" When I hear that I get really angry, because they don't stop to think about his reasons. He's an amazing athlete, I say it again.

A day of such wonderful news! Hooray! It was funny, my sister told me she was thinking of buying me a calendar for my birthday, but she said "I know you'll probably get one of that ice skater guy you like!" 
How true! Amazon Japan sends me "items suggested for you", now that I ordered from them twice. Hopefully they'll send me the suggestion for this calendar. I can't tell if it's the big calendar and / or the desk calendar.
Thank you Dr. Hronop for your 20 shades of Shoma. I know it could have easily been 40 shades of Shoma...Regarding skating for the 3 spots, this is part of the reason I'll follow this guy for his whole career! He's a good guy. I have to believe that it broke his heart to have a skate like that, when he knows he's capable of so much more (when he's in good condition). I was trying out my new NBC Gold service for skating, and (of all performances!) that was the skate of his that I chose to watch -- World's 2018 FS. That expression on his face at the end was heartbreaking and almost made me cry! I was there live, but I was so nervous and emotional it was one of those performances I could hardly remember.
Lastly, where is this guy? I'm starting to succumb to a terrible case of Shomatitis!!! Hopefully he didn't melt in Montreal!

lol I was thinking that too. Nobu probably wants to be there for Dai's debut too. Also the West Regionals that Dai wants to compete is in Nagoya about a week before NHK
2013-2017, Jeremy was in 4 of the 5 competitions. I thought from the very beginning it was odd that they didn't tell the Team Japan men. Hmmm. Maybe some "weird" things have been brewing longer than we realize.
