idk. Do you think Tatsuki knew about Dai returning prior to signing up to do the exhibition saying it will be his last performance?

2013-2017, Jeremy was in 4 of the 5 competitions. I thought from the very beginning it was odd that they didn't tell the Team Japan men. Hmmm. Maybe some "weird" things have been brewing longer than we realize.

Hmmm I was having the same thoughts. ;)

Shoma will not be available for JO. He has to go to Dai's competition to cheer for him. I'm sure he is working on a home made banner as I write these words :p

Well here you go this must be the real reason. :laugh2:

Your “20 Shades of Shoma Uno” is so nice and heart warming. It’s definitely bringing joy and smile to my day. Will you be posting this on twitter? I would love to retweet it. [emoji4]

It will be posted there soon. :)

Just went to the rink and it was completely dark. The building was open, but even the concession stand was closed. Where in the world is Shomita? Wait - has he become a Canadian citizen and taken up residence there?! Just kidding, but it really does seem like he's been there forever now and has made a lot of trips there over the past year. (Good for him!)

Prepare your heart. Our prince has once again prove what a good hearted person he is.

We all knew that Shoma didn't withdrew cox he want to fight for Japan for 3 spots...I just didn't know that Kobayashi once said "dame" but Shoma still INSISTED to compete....Shoma...you shouldn't be that stubborn...

Then...I recalled Shoma said in the mini-tv prog that his dream is "to become a person to be respected"?
I can say his dream already come true...I respect him...he is a great skater not only because of his performance, but his personality: willing to sacrifice himself for the team*/ always remember to give back to people who treat him nice etc.

*I remember in one of my Japanese studies philosophy course, my sensei said "sacrification" is one of the core thought among Japanese and even animations to children reflect that...

Yesterday, I translated my older birthday post that I had written in December 2017: '20 shades of Shoma Uno'. No analysis there, just a light and humorous list of 20 facts (well, and not only facts) about Shoma Uno. I had to incorporate the English translation into the main text (in italics), otherwise the post would be too long and heavy. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Did anyone post this link to Harper's Bazaar issue? They called Shoma 'the Little Prince of our figure skating world'. So cute.

Can't thank you enough for this translation, it made my day! Shomatitis is strong in me but I don't want to be cured, either. The Harper's Bazaar pictures are nice and love that they call him a Prince! Thanks, Hronop! :thank:

We knew this but it's so heartwarming to read it. His golden heart is one of the many things I like about him. :luv17:

Arriba, surely he will arrive to Chicago soon...inhale and exhale! ;)

Gacchan, thanks for sharing the Colan Totte mini episode and for the translations. Shoma 's so sweet and I love his smile! Just curious, what's the girl's dream?

Grap: I decided to translate (most of) the first half of mini-prog :P

I watched the prog a few times again and have to say even though it only last for 2 minutes, the “storyline” and video-editing were really great, cox it brought out the common between Shoma and the young girl (Oka Yuki).

Yuki began her career as a thatched roof (Kayabuki) craftman two years ago.
When she saw a house with thatched roof, she was impressed by the beauty of it that almost burst into tears. That’s why she decided to become a thatched roof craftmen.

…Then Yuki and Shoma talked about their dream
Shoma and Yuki both mentioned themselves as “connection/ linkage between people” when talking about their career:
Yuki:
I want to connect thatched roof crafmen to people who don’t have no ideas about thatched roof, to let them know how charming it is
Shoma:
I started skating by watching my senpai, then work on my skating so that I can compete in Olympics. With that result, it would be nice if I can link something to my juniors. (Subtitle: “to pass his thoughts down by skating”)

Back to your question, Yuki’s dream is to become “the only one thatched roof craftmen”. ^^

p.s. This little town is where Yuki's working: https://kyotomiyama.jp/sightseeing/kayabuki-no-sato

Oh my, gacchan, you're so sweet! Thanks for your time and hard work so we can understand everything. It's such a nice and heartwarming story. Yuki is a great artist in her field, those roofs are really nice!

It's amazing how two apparently different stories can have so much in common. Good job Colan Totte and all the people involved in the making of these episodes!

Thanks again gacchan!!!! 😘

I wonder where he is too. TSL tweeted that Alex working with Karen which we know you found out last week.

That definitely looks like a photo that was just taken. Seems like the same red jacket we've seen him wearing in other photos, and there's that longish hair again! Also, I was at Glacier this morning and no sign of him. As of now, it's just an educated guess, but I don't think he'll be here 'til August. In the meantime, I think he'll practice the new FS like crazy and debut it at The Ice in Osaka at the end of July...I would love to be wrong, but that's my guess.

I don't know. The Ice is also Aug 4th and 5th and then has Friends on Ice on August 24-26. I would think if you are already in North America to go for training now in Chicago instead of traveling back to Japan and then back to Chicago and then back to Japan. especially with his problems with jet lag.

I'd be thrilled if you're right, but I don't know what to think at this point. He must really have a lot of miles in his Frequent Flyer accounts! Sure seems like now is a good time.

He still have about 15 days before he has to go back for the Ice though and that’s assuming he’s going back to Japan sometimes on the 23rd-25th. There’s still a lot of possibilities. Last season didn’t he go both on June and August to Chicago as well because he has more shows to attend?

He skated in 2 ice shows here in June and did a little bit of training. Then he came back in August to train for about 10 days? 12 days?
