I’m not sure tbh. The tan looks like an IG filter, there’s another version of the video where Shoma looks his usual skin tone.

This is the yawning shoma post

And other version of the video

I mean I do think he is back in Japan too. Just that this video might not be as new as taken today.

I guess we need the wisdom of detective conan...some fans point out that shoma and itsuki were wearing the same pants as they took pic w/ granmodels

On the other hand, (a bit OT here), itsuki's tweet hashtag "i was afraid of mascot when I was small"

I wouldn't be surprised if the video was recorded around the same time

My current guess -- the Prince sneaked back into Japan wearing his Rook cap, his nerdy glasses, and his hot surgeon mask without anyone recognizing him...Regarding the latest photo we saw, I noticed how tan Itsuki looked in that Twitter photo of him prior to LA-- the one outside the yakiniku restaurant. Even his arms look tan.

Oh my gosh! I just saw it. Only on Google Translate it said "I would like to ski Moonlight".

Hi, I'm chang.
To greet the new season, and to work hard every day to meet the new rules,
The new FP is gradually advancing in that.
This season I've chosen the moonlight that I respect for the legends that I have used.
It takes time and practice to make your own, but I would like to ski the Moonlight
We will continue to make further efforts.

I will continue to do my best without losing the heat to be able to unveil somewhere in the ice.
p.s. I got a special uniform!

HA --Love the goofy Google translation, but it gets the idea across.

Here it is translated as Moonlight Sonata. https://www.instagram.com/p/BlXCJUBD39b/?taken-by=feimeicheng

Very interesting because Dai had it as SP and even more interesting because last season Romain and Marie-France worked with Gabriella/Guillaume´s Moonlight Sonata. Imo that was a masterpiece. How much similarities could there be???

Using a warhorse is a challenge for any skater but to me this choice is fine because he has not done too many of them.

Late congrats to Hronop and Happy Birthday to Bel!!!

Apparently in Japan Moonlight Sonata is casually typed as just 'Moonlight'. I'm quite excited! I think it suits Shoma's intense expressions.

So it has 3 movements -- which parts will he use. I'm assuming he got great advice and coaching on this piece while in Montreal. Now I have to go watch Moonlight Sonata programs. The first one that comes to mind is Gabby and Guillaume's. I'm excited about this choice. Hope we see it soon.

ETA -- Just watched Gordeeva & Grinkov's version. They do the 3rd movement section first and then switch to the first movement.

Thanks Arriba and Lyyli! 😀

Finally news about the FS. At least it’s not POTO or Carmen! Actually I think Moonlight (sonata) is a fine choice. All the other new programs are so far away from warhorses that he’s allowed to have one. This shows how versatile he is doing different kind of programs. Lyrical Shoma is also so beautiful to watch 😍. And Dai fanboy strikes again! 😀

yes, the 3rd movement is what normally used for step sequences. 2nd is rarely use as the tone is different.

I believe it will be the original version of MS because it is a "holy" work of art, one of the most iconic classic pieces ever. Secondly Shoma has not skated to classic piano music before, has he? Still started to wonder does there exist any crossover versions that could be accepted but can´t remember any.

Hey, here we go! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MZuSaudKc68. :scratch3: :bang:
Love the comment that says "This guy played more notes in 4 minutes than I played in 40 years." Sheesh, my poor ears! :drama: :scard7:

Happy birthday Bel! Best wishes to you :)

Finally some Shonews!! I fully expected a classical piece for the FS given that the other 3 programs are so far from it and Moonlight Sonata really is one of those pieces that I never get bored of no matter how many times I hear it, one of my favourites actually so I'm happy with it even if it is not the most original choice. Also I loved his Kreutzer Sonata junior program so for me Sho+Beethoven seems like a good combo :luv17: And he wants to skate it at The Ice?? Can't wait!! :yahoo:

I swear, I was watching one of 'Moonlight sonatas' just yesterday, and it was Lori Nichol's FP for Fumie Suguri (Worlds 2002)!

He skated to violin+piano works: e.g., Beethoven's 'Kreutzer' sonata and Ravel's Tzigane. :)
