Saw his update yesterday and saw "moonlight" in Japanese, was not connecting that with moonlight sonata! Personally happy since it is one of the warhorses that I do like and not tired of. Japanese audience is familiar with this music too so NHK will be exciting!

Hey everyone! I'm back and ready to read the last 30 pages or so

So far I've watched G &G, Fumie, Uncle Dai, and Gabby & Guillaume. The sentimental favorite for me has to be G & G. And I loved their minimalist costumes. That was one of those performances I watched and forgot to breathe while I was watching. She was ethereal, and the whole program was mesmerizing for me.

Moonlight Sonata made me think of G&G too and now we get to see Shoma being (possibly) ethereal and flowing and breath-taking! :) I'm so excited!
I've actually thought of some of Shoma's skates as dance-like in a way too - I think his arms and expression make it for me.

Also as his SP is lesser known it fits that he would choose a well-known piece for his FS.

Let's wait and see what he's prepared for us. I'm sure he'll do a wonderful job and will surprise us. At first I was shocked since I wasn't expecting something classical but then I thought that he's a master in expression and it's wonderful that he can have four new programs that are so different and deliver all of them properly.

Welcome back Dreamer57!

Gacchan, thanks again for your time and giving us the translation of the Colantotte mini episode, it's really interesting and thanks to you, many of us can understand it completely. :thank:

I had asked my friend to translate this. But it is only for me because he is not a professional translator. He is Japanese. Until we have an official translation, this is the very best that I understood. It is about the passing of Denis Ten on shoma-uno.com,

He expresses shock and disbelief and cannot yet accept that someone he competed with and greeted regularly, will happen no more. For someone that was so kind and so polite and gave everything for his country should lose his life like this brings up the deepest grief. Right now he is unable to come to terms with his feelings (of grief) and he suffers (at the fact) that he will never be able to watch him perform again. I will never ever forget the very great Denis Ten senshu. Prayers for his soul. (This is expressed very formally for depth of feeling and respect.)

Thank you so much for the translation! I saw there was a new update and I don’t understand Japanese but assume it might be related to the tragedy.

Here is another translation of his post.

I think it is lovely of him to write such a message. He did not have to post anything, also he is not on social media, but he still chose to do so.

I agree and honestly I thought he wouldn't. Just shows how deeply he admired and respected Denis Ten as a figure skater. Shoma is a figure skating nerd, we know that he looked up to many skaters as a young boy and even during high pressure situations he takes the time to watch other skaters' performances. I think he also watched Denis skate in Grenoble at IDF. That said, I don't blame anyone who doesn't comment or writes memory posts and statements on social media. Grief can be a very personal thing.

Our Prince is such a sweetheart. Agree with MaiKatze that grief is very personal and each lives through it in different ways. Shoma's message is so sincere and full of admiration. ❤️

I really need something like this to cheer me up after all that happened 😔
Does anybody have any idea what is this preshow like? I can’t really picture Sho in a Disney show

I was wondering what the pre-show would be like too. I looked on youtube and there was 1 with boomerangs but I don't know if that was very recent

Sounds like we might be in for another treat with this pre-show thing. I can already imagine the photos that will come out of this! Hopefully they will provide some awesome content like the Rook photos did...On the topic of Shoma's message regarding Denis, his sensitivity really shows through. I remember Shoma watched other competitors' programs at IdF last year. I'm sure he was impressed with Denis' artistry. I just watched Denis' SP again, and it was breathtaking.

Shoma skated See you again all in black. I guess, we can all imagine what that means. As far as it is known, there weren't any shenanigans with Disney characters.

Ah Shoma. What a sweet man to choose that program to honor Denis. The lyrics are so poignant.

This is speculation, but I could imagine them not saying anything about Denis to not upset the many children who came to watch the show.
