That short is muy caliente :love::love::love:!! The commentators said he was "feirce!" Though I wish they were quieter.

The free is coming along but I think it's a grower. I don't love the music cuts in some parts and I was hoping for a few more standout moments (I can remember more of the short already and I watched that one first), but I think over the season it'll evolve.

I have decided to start posting just out of sheer appreciation I have for Moonlight Sonata already. To me it has tremendous potential, which kind of seems like an unpopular opinion now, but what can you do : )
Anyway, hi, lovely people of Shoma's ff, I have read this thread for so long that I guess I am familiar with everyone. Here is to an exciting season with great and diverse programs from Shoma - sonething for everyone. Cheers.

unless I missed it somehow, the show on ch 15 did not include Kanako/Shoma interview. It did have performance of Moonlight Sonata at end of program.

I guess some don't like the first movement, saying it drags on too long calling it a snooze. I don't agree.

I think it's early stages. Shoma has to work on his timing and with the Quads in competition this program will look different, I'm sure. I think it's probably a snooze to those who don't like the music. Shoma's skating is never a snooze. :noshake:

Welcome nuki to the Dead Banana Club! It's always nice to see new nicks!

I guess you haven't, cox according to some tweets, the content shown between Kantere and Chukyo television was different: Shoma's FS was different version/ Chukyo broadcast Mario vs Luigi jumping contest..not sure which one was broadcast in ch 15

Well, just found a "full" (?) version of their talk, worth to take a look no matter you understand Japanese or not ^^:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlM-fmdYASE

more "abstracts":
- about Olympics: (again) Shoma said he wasn't that nervous during competition, as he was kuyashii in Japan National, he kept practicing and he thought the practice was good. After he fell his 4Lo he knew he can't be the champion so he was able to perform as usual. Kanako: "so Shoma's routine practice leads to his result in OG probably"
- about Kanako hasn't give Shoma a gift for his silver medal:
Shoma: we haven't met each other right?
Kanako: ("angry") we have performed in the same ice show!
Shoma: Oh...really...ar...yes...
- talking about ice-show, compared to what he has done in the past, Shoma mentioned his role is changing in "The Ice", he was unsure if it's a good idea to let him do those tasks . In the past he just performed what he was asked to, now his mindset has been changed a bit and trying to make the audience enjoy the show even more.

Honestly Stairway to Heaven is not that fast paced either, the step sequence part is faster yes but basically MS was also structured the same way with the 1st to 3rd movement. The only difference is STH is new and fresh and MS is a warhorse that people tent to dismiss from the very beginning or have a harder time being impressed by it because of past references.

Ah yes! Another fan who appreciates Moonlight Shomita. For the short amount of time he has been skating it, I think it's already very good. I would make a guess that at this point it's maybe 50% complete. He still needs to sharpen things up, work on his timing and the subtleties, and as he starts to own it more, he can work on the expression. I think anyone can skate to wild, bombastic music but he's at the point where he should "show his chops" (what a weird expression) with something like MS that will show off his beautiful skating skills. I don't feel it's the "same old, same old". There's a sweetness and a softness to it that I love. Definitely still a work in progress, but we are in for a treat! Love the potential of the 3rd movement section.

And after all that (sorry, my enthusiasm for the program made me get carried away!), welcome to the Prince's thread and the :dbana: Club. Post often and post long, as they say!

Adding -- Just realized this will be his first season as a senior where neither of his programs have vocals.

yes, the content seemed different. Maybe they focused on Kansai skaters and the shows from last weekend on Kantere channel. there is rebroadcast on Aug 11 and Aug 12, will this be Kantere or Chukyo channel broadcast??

True. Stairway to Heaven is pretty soft too. I think it's more Ladies in Lavender than Loco. But I think we discussed this before. For Stairway to Heaven the later part makes the audience clap and cheer, which also brings another factor, energy from the audience - that isn't quite there with Moonlight Sonata. Let's see.

Isn't Shoma vs. Alina a bit unfair?:eeking:

No MK. It's like you and me being in a jump contest with the Prince. Well, maybe not quite that bad. Watch out for that Alina though. She won't come out in that white princess looking costume. She is one tough cookie. Watch her do a 3Lo-3Lo-3-Lo (oh horrors!)...Please skating gods, no blown out knees or hips! Maybe it could be a tie!   I'll bet the audience will really get into it ! :clapper:

So she comes out in her Tigress get up and Shoma in his Rook costume. :)

How do these contests work anyway? Do they have to jump the same jump?

Saphire: you may find c3zara's post handy :-)
c3zara: thanks for posts! for me it's easier to check posts at GS/ twitter instead of tumblr/ instagram for updates :P

So I just copy from tumbir for easier reference:
11 Aug: BS Nittere- Aichi show (short one same as Chukyo TV's)
12 Aug: BS Fuji- full Osaka show
1 Sep: Nittere Plus- full Aichi show

Can't remember if there will be any broadcast of Kantere at national channel...
