Great report nuki! Thank you! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Shifting his weight back and forth over the blade is one of his trademarks, and he does it so well. Sure looks easy when he does it! He's a fighter and looked like he still tried to hang in there until the end, even though he got a bit rattled after that hard fall. I think it will be a beautiful program once he gets a little more "mileage" on it...What did you think of the costumes? Did you meet a lot of other Shoma fans?
Thanks! I really did have a very good time. Sadly it is now over...
I did not meet any fans, even though I think I recognized some from the internet, but thought it would be to weird and stalkery to start a conversation based on that, haha.
As for the costumes, the white & black is really beautiful and intricate. Looks great. The red & black one looks better on him live that on the photos, but not really my cup of tea. Interestingly the way his costumes are produced to suit his body type really works live even if not always so on the photos / videos. Overall he looks very healthy & fit. : )

I was at Lombardia and ended up being thoroughly charmed by his skating & presence on the ice. You never notice how tall or not he is because he skates with his whole body. And I know that he gets regular critique regarding the amount of crossovers he does, but, to me, they are so satisfying to watch, honestly. Something about the way he shifts weight from left to right. Just... nice.
He also seems to have a lot of Italian fans, and the public in general was very enthusiastic.
With regards to programs, I think there are parts of STH that need improvement as he is not fully commited to them yet, but after seeing it live I am sold. As for MS, and I know that this program seems to be not for everyone's taste, but I just adore the subtle mucisality in it here and there, and it has so much room to grow and improve. I am really excited about upcoming season.
The interesting thing is that first couple of practices before SP were really good for Shoma, he landed some really nice jumps, and then after SP there was the struggle. But I am really impressed he did not fall on 4S in competition as I did not see him land it even once in practice (maybe missed it, of course, but...). He has great competitive spirit. The free skate though was quite stressful to watch live, by the end my hands were kind of shaking. So this is what it feels like to watch Shoma live, I guess. All in all, he seems like a really lovely & loveable human being and I am glad to be supporting him. Mihoko-sensei is really smiley, too. I am not the type of person to ask for a photo (especially because I do not speak Japanese), but there were plenty of opportunities as the venue was really small & cosy. Great experience! Hoping for a wondeful season ahead for Shoma.

Wow, it is great to hear that you got to see Shoma skate live!
Thank you for your report, it makes me feel happy to know how much joy he brings when people go and watch him. :)

Perhaps he has developed a Lombardia fan-club now that he has won gold for THREE years in a row there :luv17: as well as fans from the recent worlds in Milan.

Despite all the hiccups, I think this was a good start for Shoma this season. He didn't perform at his full capacity yet for both programs but you can see that his programs are more polished and ready compare to others at this stage, so it will only get better after this. He and Mihoko will surely review everything and goes from there.

One thing I'm glad about is Shoma saying unlike last year he didn't feel like this time is just a fluke. Oh Shoma...you are never a fluke, but I'm happy you are more confident about yourself and your performance.

I imagine his fan base is growing fast in Italy! Looking at the previous Lombardia winners he has the record for most gold medals won and consecutively in the men's event! [emoji122]

Also Javi was asked to describe skaters this time by the olympic channel: https://twitter.com/olympicchannel/status/1041643017764040706?s=20
Sho is “little boy”...I’m starting to be really grateful to Dai now for not mentioning his height  bulldozer is much better

Shoma loves chocolate so much! It's funny that Itsuki is wondering how many piece of chocolate he can eat!

Shoma being called by Javi as "little boy" is so uwu and he calls him "Shoma-kun" too.
I don't know but its just so adorable for me.

Same! I still remember that footage of Javi, Yuzuru ,and Shoma (in their orange coat) with olympic sunglasses and Javi calling Shoma "Shoma, Shoma-kun!"
