Hello everyone! I am a very very new figure skating fan, I only started following it a few months ago, and Shoma is my favorite skater!
I impulsively bought tickets to the Bolzano gala + the meet and greet in January.
I am actually super nervous about it. I was wondering if you guys know if we are usually allowed to bring gifts to the meet and greet, and if so, what kind of gifts are usually appropriate?
Also, is there an international fan group to find other fans who are going to the event? I am seriously terrified about going alone haha.:shocked:

Thanks so much in advance!!!:pray::pray::pray:

Hi bingxiang!! Welcome! There are some fans who will be going to the Bolzano event (I'm not one of them). Don't be afraid to talk to people when you get there though, figure skating fans are (generally) nice. We can direct you to a few people.

I think you are allowed to bring gifts, I just don't know how the show will allow you to give them. Every show is different. The Bolzano show's website may have guidelines about gifts to skaters, I'd advise checking that out first.

Have fun!

I watched the gala and there are times Shoma still looks kinda jet lagged.
Time zone differences are really so :(
But I am sure he is gonna work on those little issues.

He arrived in Canada the Friday before the SP which means he was in Canada for almost
a week so I don't think he was jet lagged. He probably was just mentally exhausted.
This was a very tough competition for him.

Both Itsuki and Demi-san updated their Twitter:

Itsuki: https://twitter.com/jumokuno0108/status/1072268077767610368

If Google Translate is right, he's thanking everyone who came to his book event and the gifts they gave him. Also he comments on Shoma snapping his boot laces moments before his free skate, saying that he's pretty calm about it lol. I don't think the pictures are recent but Shoma + food = love.

Demi-san: https://twitter.com/demi0120/status/1072246189746118656

They're both dead from GPF ahahah. I think Demi-san said the next stop is All-Japan Championships! I can spy three RedBull cans beside the bed... Shoma please...

I know Latremu has shared the pictures with Alena K and Sasha Trusova above, but apparently Anna S took a picture with Shoma as well, so he got pictures with all the 3A : https://twitter.com/bluerose173/status/1072182276677464064

This picture with Camden Pulkinen and Koshiro is hilarious: https://twitter.com/yawning_shoma/status/1072078325919739905
It reminds me of Skate Canada, but this time Shoma is the one lifting!

I'm sad... I really did want Shoma to break his big golden duck :sad21: maybe people should throw him a few golden ducks at the next competition....

I had posted this translation on the edge, but as it contains comments from Shoma, and I don't think it's been translated here yet, I'm sharing it. :)

Just watched some excellent Shoma clips from the Gala. Shoma-Shimmy is now a thing.

I just had the time to read this in full, thank you Interspectator for sharing with us.

Shoma has sounded so harsh on himself in the newer interviews, but at the same time I find him so strong as well. It's not easy to admit publicly that you have issues in believing in yourself, and admit that it's an issue you wish to challenge. Like you said, Interspectator, it comes with pressure, scrutiny and expectations, especially since he comes from a country that has quite a successful history in singles skating (to say the least).

My heart hurts a little from this:

"Until last year, I was saying just enjoy, but eventually there is a time where you can't just enjoy. I may not be that age yet, but I realized that time will come. That's why I want to put pressure on myself and compete in it, and produce results."

While I believe that he'll come out stronger no matter what the outcome of this challenge he's taken, I also do hope that at the same time, he can find something he can enjoy and makes him happy while skating and competing. Like the 4F when he was so down after Worlds 2016. Shoma's tough, but I can't help but always wishing a lot of happiness for him..

He must have been under so much pressure.
I am sure he will gain his confidence back in JNats.
Until then keep cool Shoma.

Finally back home. Sorry to have missed you, Arriba! I went by your section and looked in the row but didn't see you. Maybe next time! So overall the trip was fun. I know Shoma probably wished for better results, but I still enjoyed him. I didn't run into him directly at the skater's hotel, but I did greet coach Fluffy when we were leaving for the gala. She was wearing a cool baseball cap. And when we first arrived at the hotel Wednesday, a van carrying team Japan ladies and coaches pulled up beside us. It's not everyday I can say I look in the rearview mirror and see Satoko standing there with cute pineapple blade covers on her skates . And when we were speaking with the concierge Rika kept looking at us, lol. I wanted to talk to them, but I knew they'd be headed for practice soon and didn't want to disturb them. I was also having a shy moment at the idea of speaking Japanese to them, even though I'm always encouraged when I do. I don't get what's up with me sometimes, lol.

As for the men's medal ceremony, I was in row 2 so I got a lot of footage of Nate and Jun greeting fans who gathered along the boards. At first I thought Shoma left but he was more toward the center greeting those fans. And I wish I got footage of this but for the group number during the gala, Shoma and all of the other guys came to stand by our side and Shoma was at the end by us. And while the guys were waiting to go out Shoma looked our way and gave us the biggest, cutest, most adorable smile! I was so mad I wasn't recording at that point because he looked SO precious! I decided to record after that though, but that moment will just have to be etched in my memory.

I got to chat with Patrick Chan, Elladj Baldé, and Meryl Davis and they were all lovely. Vanessa James's mom was sitting near me so I got to chat with her a bit and congratulate her (she's also really lovely and fashionable too). Vanessa spotted her in the crowd and they exchanged air kisses. It was sweet and the family resemblance is uncanny. I told her during Skate Canada the camera cut to her in the crowd and I was wondering if she was her mom because they looked so much alike. She said she was surprised the camera caught her. I then asked her how it feels as a parent to be at these competitions because even as I fan I get super nervous for them. She said you can't breathe, but wine helps :laugh:. I'll upload pics and video hopefully throughout the week.

Thanks for the info! I will check their website to see if they have more information. It would be great if you can direct me to a few people, if they are ok with it as well! :)

Welcome to Shoma’s FF! Post long and often, I’d love to hear about the meet&greet, you’re so lucky, I wish I could go. I hope that some of those who go see your post.

Thanks to everyone for sharing links and thoughts!

I’m glad he arrived safely in Japan...well, almost safely considering he barely survived at the airport  apparently there were some big kpop groups at the same time as Sho at the airport and there were like 500 people, just his luck. You can see the panic in his eyes when he saw them

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I live in France so it is not too far away for me! :) I will definitely share some pictures from the show!

Haha, can't believe Shoma is a senpai now! :o

Can’t wait! I know, right? It’s so hard for me to accept he’s not the baby of the team anymore

I love seeing Shoma as a senpai! I'm glad to see that he gets on so well with Koshiro.:)

Hi and welcome!
I hope you have a great time at the Bolzano gala!

Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you had a good time! How blessed were you to receive that Sho smile, Danibellerika! And having the chance to talk to Patrick, Elladj, and Meryl, plus Vanessa's mom!

Looking forward to your pictures and videos!

Nice to know Shoma is back home in Japan.
I know he is sempai now but he is still as cute as a baby lmao.
