Well, mama uno does know her son and his laser focus on training especially so close to a big event.

I saw Red Bull next to Sho in the changing/locker room earlier but whoaaaa.....hope some of that is for sharing. Maybe it's for traveling?

10 days to World's.
He was counting out 12 of each, so I thought he was maybe doing 2 a day, and then it's time to go to Worlds? I'm sure he'll be training extra hard, so he'll be super thirsty :coffee:and tired :bed:.

Wow that's crazy. Mama Uno had to hand over Emma to a quarantine officer, who then had to deliver the dog to Itsuki at baggage claim??

There was some weird mistranslation, like she couldn't go to Worlds because of overstayed visa? I didn't think they allow parents to accompany skaters anyway.

Yeah, because Mama Uno flew in from Switzerland and it's one of the countries listed where Japanese citizens have to go through quarantine process even if they test negative on arrival. I don't think Emma can stay in the quarantine facility she'll be staying in so they needed to facilitate the handover.

I wasn't sure about the latter part... My guess is Mama Uno was planning to go to Worlds (or at least, enter Sweden) from Switzerland because she's there already? But I think she did overstay her 90-days visa somewhere in mid-February so it's better for her to go back to Japan. I haven't read the 2021 Worlds guideline so I wonder if chaperones (can be managers, parents) are allowed to enter Sweden as part of the team for Worlds with the same procedures.

Yes, Japanese citizens coming from countries affected by the new variant (includes SWI) have to test upon arrival, quarantine for 3 days at a gov't facility and test again after 3 days. Those with negative results can go home or to an accommodation of their choosing for the required 14 day quarantine. There is no admission to Japan for anyone except citizens.

I read a while ago all of the requirements for Sweden's WC. Pretty sure the skaters can't have contact with anyone but their 'team'. Since Stephane has 3 skaters at Worlds, I would think his team would have to be his assistants who will be separate from the skaters except for practice and competition. Meals in rooms, etc. To think, I was planning last January to go to Sweden to be able to get to see all the skaters since there is no way I'd get to go to Beijing.

https://www.timeout.com/tokyo/news/...e-rules-and-extends-entry-restrictions-030421 Article this info came from.

  • International arrivals are required to take a Covid-19 test 72 hours prior to their departure back to Japan and submit a negative test result certificate upon arrival. Another coronavirus test must be taken upon arrival and travellers are subject to a 14-day quarantine. A pledge must also be signed as an agreement to abide by the quarantine rules.

  • Those arriving from countries or regions where the new coronavirus variants have been reported must self-isolate for the first three days at a designated facility allocated by the government. They must also undergo another Covid-19 test on the third day. These regions currently include: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brazil's State of Amazonas, Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.

  • Those tested negative upon arrival may return home or go to their accommodation for the 14-day quarantine period. To get into the city, public transport is not allowed. Overseas arrivals are asked to take private cars, dedicated buses or selected trains to get out of the airport.
Hopefully, all is well and her quarantine goes well. Shoma must miss them but he's in good hands for travel to Sweden but I'm sure it will be different for him.

Yes, this one in particular applies to Mama Uno. Hashiguchi-san, the specialist that flew to Switzerland to adjust Shoma's boots and blades flew back to Japan earlier and did the same thing (stayed 3 days in quarantine facility before driving home in his personal car to stay for his remaining quarantine days).

Awww, Emma-chan looked confused, even though she recognized 🌳 right away. Thx for the clarification on the return policy to Japan. I read somewhere that Mama had to quarantine for 3 days, but I didn't know the other details. Wow, Emma is quite the world traveler!

Please 🌳. Don't keep us in suspense! I can't wait to see the interaction between the three dogs!

I guess Emma is confused, for sure. Leaves Shoma, flies in a little box, leaves Mama Uno and goes with some stranger, then Tree! Yay for Tree and Dad Uno. I guess they'll be back in three days to take Mama home for quarantine. Hope she has a direct line for viewing her son at World's!

With 8 days until Worlds starts, I'm confident that Shoma, et al, has built the groundwork and he can manage to train, eat, take out the trash and pack for Stockholm. Eight.more.days! :bsplit::hap10::cheer::jump:

I don't doubt for a minute that Tree will do this!

Ask and you shall receive from the kind 🌳 :

Oh, that makes my day! :laugh2: Emma is priceless with that look of "Hey wait, where did this other one come from?! I just remember the tan one." They are going to have their hands full, but I think they're up to the challenge! Happiness overload! 💜
