I am so proud of Shoma! His performance was amazing, loved everything about it.
No podium finish for our Shoma but I am a happy fan today. Thank you Shoma for showing
your beautiful skating to the figure skating world. (even though your PC's were atrocious)
You are golden in my eyes! 😍 :cheer::dbana::ghug:

Well, I hope JSF selects Shoma soon for the Olympics and that Switzerland gives his mother a full-time visa so he can train consistently and with the best support he can have. In fact, the Swiss should pay Uno Mama-san for the advertising that she provides through her beautiful video recordings. The Japanese skaters training with Stéphane contribute to the Swiss economy. Maybe the Skating School of Switzerland could hire Mrs Uno to teach Japanese lessons and she could secure a work visa.

I think the bronze small medal for the FS is a huge plus for Shoma after coming in 6th in the sp.I'm so proud of him. On his last jump 3A Euler 3T he got a massive 15+ points. That's guts.

Nathan scored the lights out to come back from his 3rd place but Shoma climbed a big mountain here, too. I hope this is taken into consideration in selecting the Olympic team. Are they going to have to wait until next year's JNats? Torture us, go ahead, JSF.

Mark Hanretty gets all the broadcast GOE. He is so appreciative of fine skating skills like Shoma's and Jason's and the magnitude of Yuzu, Nathan and the joy of Yuma.

Who gave our boy a 8.25? I have a little something to tell you!

Shoma did not get invited to the Gala😡
Sigh. I'm in pain but I think aside from the Top 6 (sans Shoma) the others are from small feds and the host country so it makes sense they will give the gala (skaters who do the gala gets paid) to them.

I'm glad at least we had Oboe at Nagoya Festival this year. Just really an A+ ice show in every way 😔😭

Do skaters actually want to be in the gala? Going by Yuzu's & Nathan's body language, seems like they just want to go home right away. I read somewhere they get penalized (a fine and 60-day "probation") if they are invited but don't show up.

There is still WTT, if it isn't cancelled.

This was my question too. I would think the first couple times you're invited to the gala, it's exciting and an honor. After you've done 100s of them, I think I'd rather say "Adios" and head on home! In this case, I'd think the less I'm around people, the better. If you are a medal winner and refuse to participate, they deduct money out of your winnings. That Princely potato medal actually looked pretty nice!

I really wanted to see Shoma skate again. Also I am a little upset for the slight to the reigning Olympic Silver Medalist
and 4th place finisher not getting invited. Shoma probably could care less more time to sleep and game. :ROFLMAO:

I was surprised given the current situation that they are holding a Gala.

A bit late to the party but congrats to Shoma!! He fought well and delivered a beautiful fs 👏👏👏 Can’t wait to rewatch it.
I’ll ignore the pcs, they’ve been a joke at this competition

He really needed this competition, it must have been so hard for him to compete only twice this season. I think he learned a lot from it judging by his latest interviews.
