Naaah, the skating gods course-corrected your journey and blessed you with a detour to Montpelier. :p
I am very much inclined to believe this after seeing such a glorious Shoboe firsthand! Shoma truly looked like a shimmering ruby in the crown of figure skating out there!!! Hope he can carry this energy into the free! I still have no expectations-- but now I have a LOT of hope! And I'll continue to send all your kind thoughts his way. 😉

Amazing short program Shoma! :love2: Incredibly mature, composed yet emotive and technical. Everything level 4
Rest well and good luck for the free!

Also, lots of encouraging comments from Russian community (ith help from google translate) :

I love how he REALLY took his time with everything. He controlled his energy. No rushing, trying to force things, was very patient. We heard earlier that he has been working with Demi-san to improve his explosiveness on his jumps. I see more spring, tighter rotation with faster spin, and (my favorite) landing square on the 4T so he can easily get the 3T. Add to that his Nagoya posture, his mastery of total body movement, his shifting of his weight back and forth over the blade, his deep edges. He is quite the athlete!!!I

Looking forward to Sholero. You got this Sho!!!
:points: . :ghug:. :dbana:. :cheer:. :hb:. :tantrum: :hap10:. 🥇. 🏆

Please, cheer for Shoma Uno as loud as you can!!! I hope so much to see him with gold!!!

well, I would be more dramatic if I'd come straight here (as I considered...) instead of going to sleep when the event was over, but that was AMAZING. Shoma was PERFECT, and the overall level of all the skaters was SO SO GOOD (best since Worlds 2017?). It was such a joy to watch, and I didn't even get very nervous when Shoma was on. I was dancing along with his program like Stepen!

Jackie Wong called his 4F the best he's ever seen him do. The commentator on my stream noted how perfectly easy his combo was. (His 3A is always amazing, come on.) And nothing beats how happy he himself was at the end of it.

I'm almost amazed at how calm and composed he was, at how clear his progress can be there when he's been among the strongest competitors his entire senior career. But I can never be too surprised at him being wonderful. ;)

Best wishes to everyone for the free skate! Hoping for many more happy memories!

Was that Demi-san with Shoma in the K&C? I thought he's the off-ice physical trainer... didn't know he also handles jump technique.
Yes, it is Demi-san! He's both Shoma's physio and physical trainer... but he's been working with Shoma to execute a more regimented off-ice training this season. Demi-san is not helping with the jump technique, I think what Arriba was trying to say is that the off-ice training helps Shoma in increasing his stamina and power, and it helps him performing better in competition, including with the energy in his jumps.

Just thought I needed to share this cute and funny moment between Shoma and Kazuki!
LOL, @KiraraChin , I was about to share that in Kazuki's FF! It's such a funny moment... and honestly, Kazuki, mood. That last pose is great but Shoma was too giddy :ROFLMAO: By the way, congratulations to Kazuki! It's such an honor as a fan to see Shoma sharing the small medals with his teammates, especially a close friend like Kazuki.

Haha great minds think alike! I decided to share here since it's more about Shoma than Kazuki, but yeah I'm so happy for both of them! Their friendship is so funny and heartwarming, I love the way they have fun together, and support and appreciate each other. Seeing them getting medals together (even if it's a small medal) is like a dream come true for me 😭

Now I really know what a world "thrilled" really means - the English-Finnish dictionary gives about 10 different explanations and I feel those all. It is something you cannot translate, you must feel it.

This is so weird! I told a friend if I had to be nit picky and find one teeny, tiny thing wrong, it would have been that he didn't savor the moment for just a little bit longer! But his joy was so infectious! He was ready to.celebrate, and we celebrated with him.Thx for sharing that.

Just like rabidline said --.off-ice stuff. I think he has probably made his mighty calves mightier. He has a better snap with his jumps too. BTW, I don't think that's Demi in the K&C. I wonder if it's someone from the Fed.

Adding -- I see whoever is in the K & C with him is wearing a ColanTotte necklace, so it probably is Demi.

With so many compliments to Kazuki on here, I'm starting to wonder whether the Shoma and Kazuki fan threads should be merged, lol.

Kazuki is an immensely entertaining skater to watch and I was pleasantly surprised to see the judges give him a score deserving of such a performance.

However, Shoma's performance last night, filled with that contrast between soft music and intense skating that only Shoma can pull off, actually made me want to watch it again the morning afterwards! Normally, I wait until after I return home to watch what I saw at a competition again... (I wonder if anyone else here is like that...) It was just that compelling!

Well, that and I wanted to see if my banner had shown up on the stream while he skated (it didn't...but it being there is still worth it).
