Ok, stop killing us with that ending pose Sho! :dbana:

Louby, I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if he'll do something classical for the free. Kenji's style is all over the place, so I don't know what to expect from him. He does classical but also choreographs a lot of the ice show stuff too. Could get interesting!

Thanks everyone, for your warm welcomes! I am super appreciative of all the news, videos and discussions you post here, especially since I don't understand Japanese beyond the very basic level I studied at school! What a feast there is right now -- new programs, ice shows, interviews, new costumes and new jumps in the pipeline!

Jerrymouse, I was so excited reading your eyewitness report of PIW that I almost screamed myself! Ahhh, to see Shoma in a suit looking Stepen-esque :dbana:

I wonder if my Shoma addiction will ever become more mangeable, or am I doomed for rest of my life?? :ROFLMAO:

A few more bits of the program. I must say it’s looking very promising, can’t wait to see how this will evolve. He looks so good in that suit, I kind of want him to keep this costume idea

Today he jumped 4F, 4T, 3A in the sp. And 4T3T in the finale

P.s:
Welcome MogMateria! 🤗
If the coreographer is Stephane, he might really keep skating in suit 😅 Is skating in suit in official competitions against the rules? 🤔

No, it's totally legal, but I think it can get a bit uncomfortable? Shoma's isn't a full-on suit here so I'm no sure what it's like but usually the pants are kind of tight and restricting and there are lots of flappy bits so I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a different costume for competition. Especially since this program is so new it wouldn't shock me if he just kind of threw something together for here

Thanks for your answer. I'd like to see him skating in a more casual costume though... Anyway, I'm sure he'll be wonderful as always 🙂
Ps: I have this thing with his training dresses, I love him in those attires, with gloves and casual shirts 🤩 Am I the only one? :palmf:

No you're definitely not 😆 I also have a thing for him in suits, and I definitely adore this look on him right now! The fit is good even if it's slightly rumpled, and I love how the sleeves of the blazer is 3/4. He just looks so good.

Fan reports for today's show said Shoma landed 4F(2ft) 4T and 3A in the afternoon show, and popped a 2F, landed 4T and 3A in the evening show. So he's already preparing for competition layout... one thing that seems to be an issue is the last spin, he doesn't seem to have enough time to complete it. It's good that he's finding these issues very early in the season though so they can work on it.

And he seems to be very in form when it comes to jumps- landed a beautiful 4T3T in the afternoon finale, and 4F in the evening finale. Whew 😍

I think - and am afraid - that there won't be a better SP than Oboe. The SP from this year's world championships could be the best SP ever, being carried out perfectly as it was and containing such elaborate positions referring to Renaissance sculpture, a true masterpiece and piece of art on ice.

Oboe was really something, isn't it? I'm glad it was skated to perfection at the very end when it mattered the most. You just can't help but yield to its sheer perfection. It was really a program that only Shoma can skate, in my opinion.

I've always thought that nothing will ever come close to Ladies in lavender: to its youthful innocence and profound melancholic longing. And yet there came Oboe - a true masterpiece of mature Shoma. I would not count out the possibility of us seeing something really special in the later stages of his career, too -- a masterpiece of "late Shoma", if you will. :scratch2: Something darker, simpler, more nuanced, more complex interpretation-wise? His "Requiem" or "Die Zauberflöte", his "Das Lied von der Erde", his Quartet no. 15, his "Symphony no. 9"? We'll see.
Sorry for this musical digression. I'll go take my pills, it's about time.

Ok. I'll let Oboe loose, let surprise myself by the SPs to come, open my mind to new horizons.
